I’ll start by saying I don’t «know» my coffee. But I do believe the staff here are passionate about it. And my review will lean more towards the experience this place offers me. I’m a regular customer. In fact, I’m writing this from here right now. I just sat down for my morning coffee to read a book before checking my emails for the day. I do this in other cafes sometimes, but always end up back here, even though I don’t know most of the staff or owners personally and generally stay out of their way. Why do I return? They’re value for money. And to date they’re still absorbing GST. I’ve paid more for lesser quality coffee in other places. They have free and reliable WiFi. They didn’t use to, but I’m glad they changed their mind about it. They have free water. I’m so glad they’re not snobs about this either. Free water is a deal maker for me. They make everything they serve themselves. Their cheesecake is a neighbourhood favourite. They have ample seating options, clean toilets, and cosy varied sitting areas. They’re very kind to animals. I’ve never seen them have problems with customers who bring pets, and they feed stray cats regularly and sometimes set up makeshift box homes for them. They serve terrific breakfast. I like everything I’ve ordered so far, especially the pancake tampal. I don’t even notice their music choice. This is a big deal, most cafes really annoy me with their music tastes, it’s either like so cool it’s an extra person you didn’t invite, or just bad music, or I notice when the playlist loops. I’ve seen people here studying, doing their work, reading a newspaper, on work meetings, chatting with friends, having a larger gathering, playing cards, reading alone, going on dates. Even though we’ve never talked, I’ve noticed this place has plenty of other regulars also. I think the baristas even hang out here on their off days with friends. It’s hard to tell, cause they don’t have a uniform while working(which I like). Artisan can feel a bit small /crowded sometimes but is always populated with a diverse crowd. One gets the feeling it’s not just people«passionate» about coffee. The coffee itself has never disappointed me. They also do a very good red latte if you don’t drink coffee. I wouldn’t simply associate them by name to the other Artisan Roasts in bangsar village and PJ. They’re a far cry from this one, which has very much a chill neighbourhood vibe. I notice owners often bring their children too.

Artisan TTDI was one of those café everyone swarming to when the hype of coffee house first started around Klang Valley. I don’t really follow the hype but if I got a chance to try it out I wouldn’t mind. My sister suggested to visit since she really wanted to try it out after reading all the reviews and she invited me. We are not from TTDI area so it was a bit hard to find at first. When we reached there, we are very lucky to find a parking considering parking there is really hard to find at a commercialized area. I was surprised to see the size of the shop was different from the pictures I saw. It was fairly small to be honest, but it doesn’t matter. I ordered a Long Black and breakfast of the day. Long Black was good and breakfast is nice too; the salmon was fresh and the whole dish are well combined. Unfortunately, I find the place uncomfortable with the size of the seat and it was really dark inside(check out my picture for the breakfast), it is so dark I can barely see my breakfast. For the same price I rather visit a more bright and spacious place. Of course, this is just my personal preferences.

The famous Artisan Coffee in TTDI — I don’t really enjoy the coffee here as much as I used to last time. The coffee they brew used to be awesome but not anymore for me or maybe I’ve just found a liking to coffee at another café. It tends to get a little noisy sometimes and the chairs are really uncomfortable outside if you’re sitting outside and planning to chit chat for hours. I usually order an Iced Latte here and I think that they just put too much milk and sometimes when they’re busy the make my coffee and leave it by the counter which then the ice has all melted, diluting my drink. Parking here is a real pain and there are samans so be careful when parking your car! It was just after I came back from Perth for good and I was looking for a good place for a coffee, a friend recommended Artisan TTDI to me. I was a little hesitant at first because at that time, the café culture/trend wasn’t such a big thing, and was very much in its infant stage. Not having any other alternative other than good ol’ Starbucks, I decided to give this café a try. What struck my interest, was their infographic-like coffee menu. Artisan TTDI has a different menu to the one in Seksyen 13. Amazingly, the café smells of coffee. It was awesome. I ordered my first flat white in Malaysia, at Artisan TTDI and it passed with flying colours. The café is small and cozy, but as today, the café is always packed and at times finding a table can be an issue. They don’t open till late and once they’re out of coffee, they will usually shut their doors to any new customers. They know their coffee well, they brew them till perfection, just do not try going to Artisan TTDI as they are popular for their coffee. On the other hand, their cakes and quiche are worth trying too.

Met up with a new friend today at Artisan Roast TTDI, is my first time here. I don’t usually hang out at coffee shop because I don’t drink coffee. So I ordered iced chocolate, my friend bought us their cheese cake to share. Eventually, I’m falling in love with both iced chocolate and cheese cake. The iced chocolate is not too sweet, mild and little bit bitter(rich with pure cocoa but not sweetening). Same goes to the cheese cake, it is not too cheesy, a layer of chocolate at the bottom of the cake give an extra bonus to the taste. Enjoying the soft music they played, wall painted with arts and smell of coffee(I don’t take coffee but i do love the roast smell of coffee) while sipping my iced chocolate little by little, eating cheese cake bit by bit and chit chatting with friends really make my day. This delightful moment only cost less than RM25(iced chocolate RM10, cheese cake RM12).

Artisan Coffee is well known for their food, made with no powdered substitutes for butter and no colourings. Their coffee is roasted with perfection by trained baristas. They’ve got a fantastic American Cheesecake. And most importantly, you get efficient, friendly service. Well at least the one in TTDI you do. I’ve been to the other outlets and this is by far the best one. They are most known for their expresso, its suppose to be explosive. I haven’t actually tried it, but i’ve heard great things from coffee enthusiasts. My favourite desert here is their American Cheesecake. I love cheesecakes and they’ve never disappointed me. Perhaps what i enjoy the most is the trendy yet simplistic design of the café. The used of craftsmen items;- wood, bricks, etc. It give the place a unique look. However, i’m not a huge fan of the outside seating area. I feel like the chairs are quite uncomfortable. Well to do work for hours, it’s not so bad when you’re just chilling with your friends. They do have a menu here, but just the usuals. Nothing new really. I have been told they use fresh kampong eggs in their breakfast dishes. Kampong eggs are always tastier! The music here is pretty decent too, when i was here a lot, they played alternative rock all day. Which is perfect. Overall, i stand by when i say it’s the best outlet. The internet here is pretty fast, compared to the outlet in Bangsar. And the service here is the friendliest. I’ve had pretty shabby service in the other outlets. The baristas in TTDI are always friendly and ready to assist you however way they can. It’s the best Artisan Roast Coffee Bar in town.
