With the increasing number of branches being opened, one thing I like about Antipodean would be the quality and standard that they manage to maintain. While looking at the menu on the wall is always, and still is a pain, in my opinion, I didn’t mind doing it as I still like their big breakfast very much. Apart from their breakfast and brunch menu that’s yummy, I like Antipodean for their good service as well. Their management team has apparently put in a lot of effort in making sure that their team is conscious about great customer service. Parking here(in the mall) isn’t always easy and especially during lunch hours, it’s really hard to get a space. So, brace yourself while you’re getting there during peak hours. Apart from that, the only down side is when you are seated outside at the Fresco, you might need to brace yourself for a lot of mosquitoes bites as well. I got not less than ten bites during my visit.

I believe everyone has grown accustomed to Antipodean already for their awesome Australian Western breakfast cuisines. Most of the time I only visit their main outlet that is situated in Bangsar. Little did I know about their outlet in Mid Valley until recently I visited this outlet for late lunch with my other half. As usual this café/restaurant has all the bells and whistles which anyone that is familiar with Antipodean will find it just as good. I noticed that it is much easier to get seatings here almost without the need to wait(probably I came at an odd time). The menu is still the same, service is still just as good and efficient as their Bangsar outlet. Regarding their foods served, I noticed that it’s somewhat lacking as compared to their Bangsar outlet, I don’t know, maybe it’s just me. Generally this is definitely a great set up for those that is shopping at MidValley or those working at this area, which is an ideal place for lunch or for a cuppa coffee.

Love the cakes. The variety is good! :) good for catching up with friends over tea or just a couple hanging out, enjoying the day out. The breakfast selection is good and not too pricey. I personally enjoy having meals here when I’m alone cause it’s just chilling and nice. Drinks: Rarely drink much coffee here but I always order for a bottle of water. Decoration on the table: Different flowers daily.

I love Antipodean. So far it has been one of the best brunch places I’ve been to in KL that serves a decent portion for its price. However I’m not sure why the bangsar outlet is so raved about when the midvalley outlet is way better! At least to me. And it’s mainly because it’s less packed and with a bigger outdoor seating area. Their menus are on the wall which I’ve always thought is a pretty cool concept EXCEPT if it’s gonna be on the wall the menu in my opinion should be kept simple and small but Antipodean offers such and large variety of foods that it’s hard to narrow it down. Therefore the writing on the menu is small and if you’re seated further from the wall you’d have to physically get up and take a closer look at the wall menu or just take a photo and zoom in like I do. Haha. I always have their freshly squeezed orange juice(no sugar added!!) and as for food I’ve tried the Salmon omelette and one of their beef burgers. Both times I came to this outlet I was served by the same filipino waitress who is very attentive and patient. Friendly and helpful too. Prices are atypical of what you’d expect at a hipster café(we’re talking about 15−25RM for a dish) but for what you get its definitely worth the money. Don’t bother going to the bangsar outlet on weekends you’ll almost always have to wait in line unless you go super early when they first open. Antipodean is one of my go –to weekend brunch places and will definitely keep coming back for more! Highly recommend.

I’ve always wondered what Antipodean means, and just found out that it’s something related to Australia or New Zealand. This place is a kiwi style café that people have raved about for the longest time. Serving an amazing variety of awesome breakfast and good coffee, their premise is packed almost every morning, so you might have to cue for a chance to get a table. What I love about this place is that it is really child friendly, with a little play area section for the kids. Besides that, what sets this palce apart from other places is the fact that their full menu is written on a wall. You literally just sit at the table, look at the list of things they serve(on the wall) and just take your order! Really, really cool concept.

I was happened to be in Mid Valley for work one morning and my stomach growled for food. I left home without breakfast, fearing that I would be late to the event that I was assigned to cover. Fortunately and thank the heavens, traffic that morning was unexpectedly clear. I reached the mall an hour early. I thought to myself, why not have a hearty breakfast since I will be working hard later. Enjoy first, work later. That’s life right? Haha. It was still pretty early in the morning, and most of the eateries were not open yet. With only a few options to choose from, I was more than thankful to find Antipodean Café open and packed with people. Seeing the crowd, it pulled me in, thinking this place would serve a decent breakfast. I entered the café and was shown to a table by the waiter immediately, I could tell that the majority of the staff working here weren’t local. Their accent gave it away. I asked for the menu but instead I was told to look at the menu placed on the wall. It was a turn off. All I could see were letter being sardine-packed on the wall. It was confusing and rather difficult to read what they are actually serving. It took me a while to go through the wall menu. I finally decided to go for their Big Breakfast. Nothing could go wrong with it right? Well if you believe in Murphy’s law; Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. And that’s what happened to my breakfast that morning. Blame it on my expectations but I found the food rather bland. Coming from a culture where food has multiple flavors and tastes, this is more than somewhat disappointing. All that could save my remorse was their freshly juiced orange. Thank God for that. I finished up my breakfast as I couldn’t waste any of my time at the café. Disappointed with the food, however, service was something to be praised for. Fast and good service, with attentive waiters and waitresses to serve whenever you hail them.

I’m always around the area and on some mornings, I have my brunch here. It has a nice and relaxing surrounding. Going back to the first time I visited here, I learnt that the menu is written entirely on a wall in the café, and being seated outisde, I had to constantly walk in and out deciding what I want. Anyways, I usually have the Big Breakfast because its just so worth it. For a person who doesn’t have big meals for breakfast, this one is an exception. I also visited for dinner once and had the Spinach Carbonara/Creamy Macaroni(I don’t really remember the name). The portion this time isn’t that generous, but it is definitely delicious.

I had brunch here one morning. It was OMG.AMAZING. Great coffee. Great atmosphere and delicious food. I ordered the famous Big Breakfast(RM18), which consists of toast, bacon, mushrooms, scrambled egg and toast. I was one of the best brunches I ever had. What I also like about the place is the fact that the menu is written on the walls so it’s very easy to decide what to order. I like this because it’s unique and different from all other places. The prices in my opinion are affordable and it worth it to pay for that amazing food.

My favorite western restaurants in KL. Great options, nice and friendly staff, proactive service and a really nice ambiance. They offer seating options inside and out, and it tends to get really full during lunch hours so you might want to plan taking that into consideration when going there. One downside in my opinion is the fact that the menu is written in the wall, which is a bit inconvenient. But the quality of the food and service makes up for it. I love the brunch options, the beef burger and the side of mushrooms! YUM!

I used to always stick around Bangsar, just in case I would get hungry while shopping, because I knew there’s Antipodean just on the corner in Jalan Telawi 2. However, this weekend when I was shopping in Mid Valley I saw something and I could not believe my eyes. Antipodean is also in Mid Valley! Thsi is the greatest news for those who know Antipodean. However I still prefer the one in Bangsar, because it is much more cosy, the owner greets you once you come. It has a more local and homey feeling. Nevertheless, the food is phenomenal in both places ! :) Try their All day breakfast! :))
