I’m a sucker for Indian and Thai food. I used to date this guy who loved to eat Thai food and I don’t know if he genuinely loved this place as much as I did or that he was just trying to get on my good side and spoil me to bits. This place is one of those boutique restaurants was the ambience was quiet and plush and everything on the menu is considerably more expensive as compared to normal Thai restaurants. The perfect place for dates and such. I absolutely love this place! The place is cozy and beautiful and the food is simply amazing! I could go on and on about this place and you know what? I will. I am quite a big eater, especially if I really enjoy something. In this case, I could have their deep fried sweet sour fish, or their pandan leaf chicken or their steamed fish by the boatload. But seeing as to how it is a very upmarket venue, everything was in smaller portions. «A Petite lady ballerina with frail fairy wings and a stomach the size of a walnut.» Yes, that’s what they must think of me there. I am however, a 6-foot man with four stomachs made of steel and teeth made of dragon hide. But of course I had to be more demure and assume the role of the ballerina fairy when on dates, I don’t want to be single forever you know. But when it’s our fourth or so date, I’m taking the wings off and snapping that wand in half mate, imma’ eat what I want and I will never stop eating. I hope you still love me then. They do have a private room that seats about 8 to 10 pax if you want to host a private birthday party or two. They also have plenty of tables for 2,4 and 6 pax outside. I’ll say this again, guys bring your special lady here on your first date, it’s the perfect ambience for those. Ladies, don’t forget your fairy wings. And no, napkins don’t go on your collar, were ballerinas, not barbarians.

Being a big fan of thai food, I tend to have higher expectations when I patron any thai outlets which brings me to ‘Amarin heavenly thai’. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about this place so I decided to over for lunch. Since It was just myself and a friend, we decided to order the tom yum goong, single plate: pineapple fried rice, chicken pandan leaf and phad thai noodles. To start with, the tom yum goong didnt have that extra kick, it was spicy and sour but it was as though it lacked on other essential ingredients. You cant go very wrong with the pandan chicken so that was okay besides the average pineapple fried rice which to be honest was oily and blend in taste. Having paid a premium here as oppose to other thai restaurants you would expect more quality consideration to be given. Not one of my favorites.

This is one of the expensive thai restaurants in a mall. This place is next to the udon restaurant, Manmaru Handmade Restaurant. The interior is pretty dim and basic. Sofas were decorated with some thai-ish cushions. The waiters were really attentive and make sure that we are well seated and took our order for drinks first. As usual, in Thai restaurants, they normally serve pandan water. Menu was passed on to us. Well, the price kinda shocked me a little. For a one-person tom yum goong, it was like RM18.00 But the tom yum is good and they were not stingy with the seafood portion. Dessert is good. Service is fast. Overall experience: 4⁄5 Price Rating: 2⁄5(won’t be coming anytime soon since it may burn a hole in my pocket)
