Sadly, I’m updating my review to three stars after several disappointing experiences at Acme. The food just isn’t quite up to the standard it should be for such a place. Often they will change ingredients in your food without so much as a heads up that they have run out if things. This has happened multiple times and yes! I do notice when I order one thing and receive another. But what really knocks this place down to a three star is the service. Absolutely terrible for a place that tries to pass itself off as upmarket. Long waits to place orders, hard to get attention of staff who seem to be running around like headless chickens with no idea what is going to around them.

One of the finest establishments in KL, easily. The Troika AB&C is a lot more chill than most other places in KL for brunch, with a stylish décor that could easily put itself on the world map! Food? Never disappoints. More conservative diners may want to be careful to avoid the more experimental dishes(carrot string fries with pancakes!) but if you’re in for something that provides far more than your usual selections of mains and pastas and brunch, this is definitely the place to go.

Services are great! Food are average i’d say. Portion are just nice :) a good place to come with your other half during brunch. Lunch is just. Packed. Love their coffee art :)

The place is not so impressive compare to the reviews online. I ordered salt beef egg Benedicts but at the beginning they served the dish without beef inside! Of course I requested to add them back, otherwise the name can be just ‘egg Benedicts’. We also ordered well-known sizzling brownies, it’s just fancy but nothing too special for the taste of brownie itself. Besides, the air-con doesn’t work so well as other restaurants do, maybe it’s just to save the energy. In general, if you don’t mind pricy and traditional western food, you may try here.

Yesterday, my colleague & I headed to Acme Bar & Coffee for lunch. A few minutes after we were seated, a male foreigner(Acme’s Ops Manager) sat next to our table. Half way through my meal, I experienced bowel discomfort and walked towards the restrooms. I entered the last cubicle. As I was sitting on the toilet bowl, I heard a male voice. Then, I saw a hand & measuring tape against the glass door. It was at that moment I realized the bottom half of the door was covered with a few flimsy cardboards. To my horror, there was a gap at the top right. Attached are pictures of before & after the cubicle is occupied. I was wearing a green dress. You can see clearly my leg & green dress.(It was taken after the horrifying experience and I was fully dressed when the photo was taken) When I exited the cubicle, I saw the foreigner talking on his phone & holding a measuring tape. I walked out of the restroom & called the receptionist to enter the restroom with me. I pointed to her that the door was not properly covered & asked, «Who was measuring the door just now?» She kept quiet. I looked at the man & asked, «Was it you? Did you look inside?» He replied, «No, wasn’t me. When I measured the door, it was wide open.» I clarified, «No. I was sitting inside & saw the measuring tape & hands. How could you be measuring the door when I am inside? Are you a Peeping Tom?» His facial expression changed. He raised his voice, «I don’t have time to take this shit from you.» I was taken aback & said, «I am going to make a complaint to your management.» He responded, «What management?! This is a private business. I’m the Operations Manager of this place.» I was shocked. I told him, «You better watch your language. I’m the customer. You shouldn’t measure the door when it is occupied.» He cursed at me, «Fuck you!» Immediately, I returned to my seat & related the incident to my colleague. My colleague called the waiter to verify is the foreigner the Operations Manager. Affirmative. She, then, gestured to the manager to come to our table. She asked, «What’s your name?». He told her, «Javier Steward». My colleague told him, «We want a formal apology for the unpleasant incident in the restroom. This is your establishment. You are the manager & she is your customer. My friend is traumatised by the incident. It is impolite to curse at a customer.» He refused to apologise and said, «It wasn’t me who checked the door. It can be anybody. I can view the CCTV and see who entered the restroom after her.»(There were other customers sitting next to our table & they could hear our conversation) My colleague managed & controlled the conversation well. When Javier finally calmed down he said, «I’m the only one managing the whole restaurant & holding the measuring tape. I don’t understand why she is angry.» I told him, «I’m a woman. You are a man. In this situation, any woman would be afraid & angry.» His answer, «From where I come from, women & men are equal.» While we were footing the bill, my colleague requested the waiter to write the Ops Manager’s name on the business card. He wrote, «Javier Alvarez». I was unhappy & walked out of the restaurant for fresh air. Javier conversed with my colleague. Afterwards, he came out to formally apologise for the incident.

Went there for a friend’s birthday celebration. We booked a table of 11, in condition: each of us were to order a main dish and a drink. All in all, the ambience was great, quite spacious and stylish. The food quality however, has let me down. So much to pay for an average food. Service was in slow pace even though it wasn’t crowded. Besides, what’s ‘best sizzling brownie’ when it tasted just as normal?

I’ve been to Acme quite a few times, over the past couple of years and first off i have to say it’s quite overrated. The interior is gorgeous in my opinion, I love how open and bright and airy it is due to the huge windows. On weekdays, Acme isn’t too full so you have a god chance of being seated even without a reservation. I decided to pay a visit this past labor day with a friend and boy was it full. We were offered a seat at the bar because if we were to wait for an indoor table we would have had to wait an hour. I personally hate sitting at the bar because of all the noise from the blenders so we chose to sit outside. I love that there are hidden coolers at the base of the seats at Acme to keep you cool even when sitting outside so that you don’t roast in the Malaysian heat. I absolutely love the Mac and Cheese here. Creamy and loaded with tonnes of what i think was cheddar cheese. I love how the portion was just the right size too. Most people visit Acme simply to try their Sizzling Brownie. To be honest, I didn’t enjoy it at all. The brownie is just an average brownie, nothing great, in fact it was a little too dry and crumbly inside due to the heat from the sizzling pan. Overall though the food is good, the prices are extravagantly ridiculous and not really worth it.

This Acme bar is located nearby KLCC and it was my first time visiting. I am a skeptical person when it comes to a high end café like these because I want to have a good experience which value for my money. Service: I would said there’s still more room to improve. We were seated by them near the entrance because it was full house that time. We told him please place us at some here more comfortable since there are so many of us when the crowd leave. After 30 minutes, there’s an empty table and we asked to switch place but he refused saying that table is for 10 of more while there was 6 of us. Food: we ordered the famous brownie on sizzling plate which cost like 20+ Ringgit. The presentation is indeed special with the chocolate sauce boiling on the plate but they forgot the food was supposed for eating not only looking. The brownie was burned at the bottom and the chocolate sauce was a bit too bitter after the whole sizzling process. The ambiance was good but there was mosquito around where we sat and it really bothers me a lot.

Acme bar and coffee is at Troika on Jalan Binjai KL and has been a hit since it opened its doors a few years ago. I’ve only been very recently for the first time and thought it was very mediocre. I’ve heard from friends that its nothing great and pricey too, but still thought i’d give it a try. So it was a sunny saturday morning when they boyfriend and i dropped by for breakfast. I had the baked eggs and he had some big breakfast thing. It was nothing to scream about, in fact i’ve had way better breakfast for a fraction of the price like tom dick and harry’s for example. All in all I wont be going back for the breakfast but may try the other items on the menu, especially the sinful sizzling chocolate brownies.

If i could eat only one dessert for the rest of my life it would be their sizzling brownie, very chocolate and i love the combination of hot and cold when it comes to desserts. The vanilla ice cream compliments the warm sizzling brownie so well, each bite sends me to ecstasy. I like the environment of this place too. I would usually sit outside, especially after it had rained and theres just a nice cool breeze in the air. Perfect to indulge in that brownie!

Breakfast, lunch, brunch, tea time, dinner. All in one. This place is good! Breakfast selection is good too. I had the peanut butter and chocolate sandwich with kiwi on top, farmer’s breakfast and the basic breakfast set. Farmer’s breakfast has crispy bacon strips, sunny side up eggs and some other stuff. Basic breakfast includes mushroom and scrambled eggs. Cakes selection? It’s good! I have yet to try their specialty, the sizzling brownies. I have tried their pavlova with whipped cream and strawberries on top. That’s nice. Dinner is good too! I had the lamb rack. cooked to perfection and just tenderly nice. Sides were french beans, mashed potato and some cherry tomatoes on vines. My friends had the grilled chicken with grilled pineapple on top. She said hers was good and no complaints. Overall experience: 4⁄5 Price rating: 2⁄5(Can’t come here too often with student allowance)

With all the hype of this bar cum café, I finally get to try their food and drinks during my fiancé’s farewell company dinner. It was hard to find this place because my GPS couldn’t detect the place(this was early last year). I had to make two rounds and I finally found the place. Well, when I arrived, I thought to myself this place looked rather fancy and had a good feeling this would be rather pricey. True it was pricey. I had a flat white alongside a main which I can’t remember, I think it was the macaroni and cheese. The serving was small. The flat white was so diluted that I told the waiter to get me a new one. But, it was the same! Very much over-rated. Nonetheless the farewell dinner for my fiancé was good. It soaked up the negative part of the coffee and the disappointed of the portion. I did had to get some supper after the dinner.

I must say that Acme Bar and Coffee which is familiarly known as ABC is truly a gourmet casual café. Its elegant interior elevates the restaurant by so much that even the food had to be on par with it’s atmosphere. A majority of the foods on the menu are ranged from about RM20−50, which is very pricey for food being served in a casual restaurant. The food here tastes slightly above average than other cafes compared. Service on the other hand can get moving at a slow pace because of the overwhelming crowd that is always coming in on weekends. This café is usually crowded all day long during weekends, so maybe if you’d like to take your own time and have a nice meal here, you and your friends may want to come here on weekdays. When I visit this café, me and my friends will always order ABC’s signature sizzling brownie with ice cream which is at about RM19++.We always share this dessert because it’s quite a heavy dessert and very chocolaty. The heavenly hot chocolate sauce is always such a sinful treat for my friends and I. Really anticipating for our next visit again!

My colleagues and I were attending a meeting at the building across from The Troika where Acme is located so we decide to have lunch there when we were done. As we walked in we were greeted by a friendly waiter and escorted to a table. As we perused their menu, we all had the same expression on our faces and looked at each other without saying a word but nodded as if we understood what was going on. The prices there were slightly higher than what we were used to, but it was our first time there so we decided to stay(also because we were already seated). I had the Scallop Truffle Aglio Olio and it was amazing. It was my first time eating fresh scallops and this dish was a great introduction. Juicy, succulent and well-seasoned the scallops sat triumphantly on a hill of angel hair pasta tossed in truffle olive oil. Well worth price I must admit. I plan to pay Acme a visit again, maybe try out their desserts as I have heard nothing but good reviews about them.

The first time that I went to Acme Bar was my Anniversary with the boyfie. I actually like the ambience of the place, it is really spacious, with two floors and outdoor. The decoration and lighting are very nice as well.
It was a brunch, so we ordered some breakfast, salads, coffee and tea. Not a very big fans of the food there, the overall of the food is just so so. However, the price here is quite expensive, we had spent about RM100 just for the brunch. Personally, I don’t think the food is worth the price. The second time, I came here with my sister(because she wanted to try it out), I only ordered the cempedak cake this time as I heard it is quite good and it is actually not bad because it doesn’t taste too sweet(I am not a fans of sweet stuffs). I wouldn’t come back here for breakfast or brunch, but probably just a tea time catch up session with friends.

When dining at acme, do not order the sizzling brownie. The brownie is overrated by many and definitely does not live up to its standards. Quite sure you wouldn’t want to eat a dry brownie, am I right? Although the brownie isn’t the best, but the chicken avocado panini is just amazing. The polenta pizza is also pretty decent. If you’re a foie gras lover like me, you must try the smoke duck foie gras here! I’ll never forget how the foie gras melted off my tongue on my very first bite. It was truly unforgettable. The tea here is good as well but don’t bother ordering their granita which was tasteless and a let down. So far I’ve dined at acme twice. Even though the food here is slightly on the pricey side but I really enjoyed it. The place is also lovely for gatherings, dinners and such.

ABC is situated in an area that not many people will explore. It is in the city centre(very near to KLCC) but you will somehow miss the junction to the café. I’ve been here several times with a different group of friends and if I have the chance avoid café, I would. In all honesty, I don’t dislike this café, but I don’t like it either. Unfortunately, I can’t find a solid reason to like ABC. The first time I came here with my high school friends, it was well and good. The coffee was alright and the desserts were so-so. The highlight would be the jackfruit and cempedak cake. Other than that, it’s just bleeehhhh. Lighting in ABC is very dim; so if you wish to take good pictures of the foods and yourselves, don’t bother as the pictures will turn out to be unsightly. Parking is a sore, so I suggest you to park in the building opposite of ABC. Let’s continue with the fact that I had a few hiccups with the staff. Why? Earlier before I got to ABC, I made a reservation at 8.30pm. Due to the massive crowd, my friends and I waited for 45 minutes to 1 hour for our seats. We were pissed, oh trust me, we were! What’s the point of making a reservation if they couldn’t promise us a table? It is certainly alright if we were asked to wait for 15 minutes or so but 45 minutes to 1 hour is very unacceptable! That’s when we decided to stomp out of the café and never bothered lay our foots in there, ever again. Disappointing!

Stunningly outfitted, Acme is where we like to spend our weekends afternoon. Not only the place is pretty as a picture, the meals are impeccable. Brunch seems to be a popular choice here. But we love the desserts too. The cempedak cake is the star here. When it comes to appetizer and mains, the salt egg yolk chicken strips and roast lamb rack are some of the must-trys.

Went there once for a catch up session with my ex-colleagues. I wasn’t sure whether the queue is always so crazy, all I know was we waited for an hour and a half for our table. Maybe that’s because we went there at lunch time on a weekend and quite a big group(there was 5 of us). Thank goodness we haven’t seen each other for a while and we got so much to talk about and doesn’t notice that we have waited so long. Couldn’t remember the name of the food we ordered. All I can remember was their food are quite delicious. The people there was attentive too. My colleagues and I had a great time catching up. From lunch time, we chatted till almost dinner time(that’s also because we waited quite long for our table). Overall the ambience of the place is very soothing and comfortable to be at. But I must say, their food is a little pricy and avoid going during peak hour!

Cozy café in the heart of the city. ABC is located on the ground floor of Troika building. They have an extensive«breakfast» menu which only ends at 5.00pm. I’d recommend the salt beef eggs Benedict. Their drinks menu is quite remarkable. They have everything from detox juices, wine and even cold brew coffee. I had the iced cold brew latte. BEST. COFFEE. EVER. ABC also boasts a huge range of cakes and desserts, shame I didn’t order any. Would recommend this place for dates ;)
