I went to this place few times as it is near where I stay. New to choose properly when to go as it can get crowded pretty often. The stay here is pretty good, meat is soft and tasty and portion are generous. Sometime the meat came out a bit burned but that was rare. It is definitely a place I would come back now and then for satay craving.

It is the nearest satay store to me and I am sure that I had passed by this restaurant for hundred times, but I never notice it until my friend mentioned recently(what a shame) and we decided to give it a try. You can easily spot Sate Kajang Melati when you are driving at the MRR2 highway. It is located same row with the Paparich, Old Town White Coffee and McDonalds. Parking is a little difficult there since the lots are limited. You may need to take some times to get one, double parking is a common occurrence there but make sure you park somewhere you can see or put your contact number there to allow people informing you. While entering the restaurant, you can see a queue at the counter and a huge charcoal grill at the back barbecuing uncounted numbers of satay. You will need to get yourselves a table, queue at the counter, give the cashier your table number, make orders, pay on the spot, get your receipt and wait for your foods. It sells wide variety of satay meat from chicken, beef, fish, lamb, rabbit and deer. Chicken, beef and fish cost 80 cents per stick, while lamb RM1.40, deer Rm 1.80 and rabbit RM2. That’s pricey since I can get other satay for half of these prices, just assuming they would taste really great then. I ordered chicken, beef and rabbit(that was the first time I tried rabbit meat), a plate of ketupat and a kampung style fried rice. The size of the satay were quite generous, the meats retained their moist too by using traditional charcoal grill, but the rabbit just tasted like chicken. One of our chicken satay wasn’t cooked enough but all others were fine, I prefer beef satay though. The sauce given was really good and sweet enough with lots of peanuts, however the ketupat was a bit stingy. Overall the foods were okay but I won’t come often because I think I can get the same thing outside with better prices.
