Maliia Bakery

Maliia Bakery is a local bakery on Jalan Transfer in George Town. It was close to the hotel I stayed at when visiting Penang so I would stop by the bakery to buy an afternoon snack on a couple occasions.
The bakery selection is a mix of Western and Asian baked goods reflecting the melting pot of Malaysia. Hence items like doughnuts and chapatis can be found here. It seems like their loaves of bread are popular and there is a large dessert case here full of cakes and tarts. This shop is without pretense. So prices are reasonable as opposed to the jacked up prices I pay here for baked goods in Seattle.
Note that the bakery is pork free so you won’t find any products here with that as an ingredient. If you are looking to try out a local bakery in George Town, Maliia Bakery is a good one to check out.
