It’s not very often people hear of a halal Korean restaurant, well, Sweetree is one. My fellow Malay friends can now enjoy Korean food without having to worry about eating something against their religion. Sweetree’s concept is based on creating an indoor forest experience. The trees and the all the flowers and plants indoors got me thinking about stuff like dining in the world of Pocahontas. There is a wooden swing upstairs for customers to sit and play around just before they leave the place. There are also antiques(whether it is genuine or not, I’m not sure) that customers can look and be fascinated at. I can’t remember much about the food, but I do know that I’ve tried their aglio olio pasta with shrimps. Not sure if that’s considered Korean, I think it’s more Western than Korean. Nonetheless, I think I was quite satisfied with it, considering the fact that I don’t remember having any complains.

I don’t know about you guys but everytime I’m watching the Running Man shows, I crave for the Korean foods so bad. Damn you Running Man. So this place is highly recommended by the other korean food lovers. Since it’s located at Ampang, I need to wait till weekend because I was too busy with my works. As I stepped inside the premise, I was quite amazed with the interiors. Makes me feels so cozy and calm. But I’m apologize because I could not remember all the name of the foods. It’s quite hard to remember. But everything that I ate that day is average. Not too good and not that bad either. The price here is cheap and for the muslims, you guys don’t have to hesitate as all the foods serve here are halal.

Sweetree is a pretty deceptive name for a fusion food restaurant, as you might imagine more fruits than plates of hot penne pastas, and it prepares your food pretty well too. I am in love with the pesto chicken chop as recommended by my friend, as he went for a date there. Not the best of chicken chops in terms of taste, for it is the sauce that brings up the flavor. The mashed potato balls, however, tastes better than it looks, and is pretty creative for a fusion food restaurant. Of course, the ambience is your typical café feel, with them helping brick selling companies to make money to create the ambience of ‘ambitious-brick-wall-lots-of-lights’ feeling. Bring your date there, but do not bring yourself there, as the price is slightly steeper than usual, and not the best of places to go to for your daily ‘emo’ moments.

Went for a date at this café. It is also a Korean café which serves fusion food. The menu has really a lot of choices to choose from. I ordered the black pepper chicken chop since Im not really a big fan of Korean food. The ambience reminds me of a modern brick house. Its really cozy and relaxing and in my honest opinion it does not feel Korean at all except for the music they are playing! The prices of the food is a little pricy but the taste of the dish proves the value for money. My black pepper chicken taste good though the portion is a little small, her dish however looks better. She ordered the pesto chicken chop with these mash potato balls which taste really good with the dipping sauce! For those who aren’t familiar with the place, a gps might help cause honestly it was quite hard for me to find it!

If you are craving for Korean food, come to this restaurant. Don’t hesitate to try because the food is superbly amazing and most important is its Halal Restaurant! This is my first try for Korean food. All of these influenced from Korean drama. I was wondering how does tteokbokki taste, kimchi, jjangmyun. There’s a lot to try in this restaurant which also has great décor. I ordered creamy tteokbokki(It cost around RM15+)
For a first timer like me, the creamy taste was good enough. I thought it may not enough because tteokbokki usually is a light menu for Korean. But no! A plate of tteokbokki can make you full already. Kimchi is a must try in any Korean restaurant, so they will serve rice porridge with another side dish; kimchi, sausage, and some veggies. Their Black bean noodles or Jjangmyun also good. On your first ‘slurp’,(either you will or you are not) enjoyed the taste of the sauce it depends on your own preference. But, I think most people even Malaysian love it! Many peoples around said that the owner of this restaurant really funny and friendly. But, I haven’t had a chance to chat with him because I always came when he went out. I hope on my next visit, I have a chance to meet and chat with him. The restaurant has unique décor, they use tree for main décor. The restaurant has a good environment to chill and hang out with family or friends. Beside food services, they provide activities for visitor who interested to know about korean culture, There will be Korean Languange Class, Korean Cooking Class and also K-pop Song class. Just contact the restaurant or go to the restaurant to know more about korean culture and foods!
