So I just finished with lunch here– pumpkin chicken curry with rice, regular spice level. I am now writing this review from a restroom close by. I’m sure I don’t need to elaborate. The curry was somewhat bland and has left my stomach in open rebellion. The service was… awkward, somehow. The ambiance is nice but I’m gonna give this place a pass in the future.

I have had better curry but overall ok meal. However, my wife’s soup did not come out as advertised and took an excessive amount of time to be served. She was disappointed that the green vegetable in the picture was not included. The beer was cold and refreshing to end on a positive note.

This place opened up just next to 7 – 11 right outside Yokosuka Base Wombo Gate. It is a short walk from the gate and replaced an old Italian shop that used to be on the street corner. The place is large and open and is definately a great place if you have smaller children. Where some of the Indian shops in Yokosuka have small cramped bathrooms and thin isle ways, this one makes up for it with its cleanliness and space. I had the chicken curry speical set — large helping of curry with saffron style rice. I ordered a cheese nan on the side. Overall, I thought it was a really good lunch and the 1100 yen I paid for everything was about par with what I have had at every other Indian place in Yokosuka for lunch. The Curry I ordered very spicy and I felt disappointed that the curry didn’t really feel spicy. I understand the Japanese pallete but if you order the spiciest level, I would at least expect a little burn. The flavor was good but it was not anything special. I was left with the, its good, but not great feeling. The rice was sticky, moist, and had an ok texture. Rice is a make or break point for me with any Curry Shop and this place was better than a majority of the places in Yokosuka. However, it lacked any depth that you would normally get with the saffron spice. This left me with a satisfied but not over joyed reaction. The cheese Nan was good but it wasn’t the centerpiece like many of the other shops with a baked to order feel. It was good, but once again not great. With the 9 Indian curry shops within a 5 minute walk from Yokosuka-Chuo station, this place is good if you don’t want to walk far from base. The price is on par with any of the other locations around. The only issue I had with it was the fact that nothing was special. Some shops have curry that is amazing, with detractors on some other portion. This place was just…, normal? Its not bad to be normal, but when the other places all have something earth shattering in comparison — I find myself wanting to go else where.
