An Indian restaurant that is very close to Yoyogi Station. If you were not looking at Unilocal reviews, you might never find this Indian restaurant. «Oh, you mean it’s somewhere in no-man’s land that is far from a train station?» No, it is about 30 second away from Yoyogi JR Station. «Tomo, are you making fun of English speaking community in Tokyo? We know how to get to Yoyogi Station. After all, it is where the famous Meiji Jingu Shrine is located.» Yes, I am sure that most of you can find Yoyogi Station, and if you read this review, you will find Ahilya. However, if not for such review, you would not accidentally go here. It is on the third floor of a tucked away old building. The kicker is, they do not have an elevator. If you have the courage to venture all the way to the third floor, you will be treated to a very tasty Indian meal. Note that my one and only visit here was for lunch, so I cannot comment on their dinner. Price: 990 Yen Lunch platter Food: My platter included two types of curries, salad, and tandoori chicken, and naan. Let’s first start with their naan. It was huge! You need to see my picture. My dining companion ordered the second naan, so I was amazed by the size of his stomach. Not only was it big, it was very tasty. It went so well with their curry. Now, I will not pretend to be some Indian curry expert. All I know is that it tasted very good. I cannot start listing to you all the spices that were used to create this curry. I got to choose two out of three choices — Chicken, pork, and vegetable. I went with chicken and vegetable. As for the spiciness, I did not think it was too spicy. Perhaps they toned it down for the Japanese market. Drinks: For lunch, additional 110 Yen will get you a choice for chai, coke, etc. Verdict: I would definitely want to return for lunch. A really useful place to know.
