We loved this place so much, we went way out of our way to visit again before leaving Tokyo. The owner is super nice and friendly, and very concerned with making sure we knew what we were getting. For example, he showed us the mushrooms that were in the mushroom okonomiyaki to make sure we Westerners wouldn’t be disappointed(they must have had some tourists who expected button mushrooms)… We weren’t disappointed — it was all so good! If you haven’t had okonomiyaki, this place is great for first timers and connoisseurs alike. They’ll help you cook it, or let you make your own, and have a really broad selection. Also very vegetarian friendly — they’ll tell you which sauces are veggie-safe! We had okonomiyaki in Hiroshima and Osaka, but this place remains my favorite. Love the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Sake was great too. It was all so delicious I wish I could go back today!

Had a great night with friends at this okonomiyaki restaurant! We’re headed to an izakaya tomorrow night so we wanted a different kind of Japanese food tonight. Four of us so we started with 2 beers, a red wine(which was served cold) and an ume shu soda(plum liqueur with soda) and we ordered 4 items from the menu –pizza(pork and cheese) okonomiyaki, beef teppenyaki, chicken fried noodle and pork kimchi monjayaki. All delicious though i enjoyed the texture of the okonomiyaki more than the monjayaki. We were still a little hungry so ordered the Tsuchiya special double size which is pork chicken beef and squid okonomiyaki. We were absolutely stuffed! Maybe we should have stopped at 4 items! Food and service were fantastic. Super fun night as the staff cook for you at your table(or you can do it yourself if you know what you are doing!). Only downside is cleanliness which could be improved upon and smoking in the restaurant. Oh and expect that your clothes and hair will smell like Okonomiyaki when you leave.

Tsuchiya Okonomiyaki! Very welcoming to foreigners– they have a giant map for people to pin where they are visiting Japan from. It’s an okonomiyaki/manja restaurant where you cook the food in front of you. I believe they had an English menu for everything. And they can make it for you on your grill if you’re not sure what to do. We tried different kinds of yakisoba, manja, okonomiyaki, as well as their special dessert– the anko(red bean paste) roll with ice cream! I wasn’t expecting to love the dessert so much! They heat it up, roll it, and divide it at your grill, then you put the melting ice cream on top to make perfection. The most amazing part of this experience was how cheap it was for 3 people! If I remember correctly, it was about 800 yen(less than $ 8USD) each. For the amount of food, and especially for Tokyo, it was a cheap dinner.
