Ballower Terrace Sendagaya

In search for authentic American Style burger; took a big detour by trying out Ballower Terrace.
Okay, let me say it up front that I am probably being a bit harsh by giving this place two stars. What drove me to this conclusion is the fact that the restaurant did not meet my expectations. Based on the atmosphere and the fact that their menu looks like an American newspaper, I expected American style food and service. I learned that this place was far from Authentic American — more of a typical Japanese «café».
Issue 1: Had to wait in a line for 20 minutes despite that fact that there were many empty tables.
Issue 2: I was attracted by this place due to their terrace seating. In fact, this is what I came here for. However, I learned that smoking is allowed in the terrace seats, while the rest of the restaurant is non-​smoking. This means that high concentration of smoking is done at the terrace tables. This pretty much forced me to go for non-​terrace seating.
Issue 3: No diet drinks. Hence, not American.
Issue 4: Great looking burger, but not authentic American Style burger. Both buns and patty was clearly not American. It is more like Japanese «hamburg» placed between two pieces of bread.
Now some positives:
If you are not like me, who is constantly in search of the most authentic American style burger, then you might have a positive experience at Ballower Terrace. The décor is great. Super cool interior design. Seats are roomy and comfortable. Food wise, they focus on fresh and high quality vegetables. If you stay away from meat product like me, you might enjoy some nice veggie dishes.
