Craft beer and grilled meat specialty Gastropub in Osaka. If you love meat and beer, this is the place place for you… sort of. While I really enjoyed my experience here, I did notice some of their short comings. First, lets talk about the positives: BEER: They carried 7 selections of craft beer on tap. All were U.S. West coast beers from Washington State to California. Selection included names like Lagunitas IPA, Smoking Gun, Roger’s Pilsner, etc. I appreciated their pricing model, where(S-200ml) was 600 Yen, while(L-425ml) was 1200 Yen. You get a slight bargain for going with large, but not by much. This allows customers to go with small and enjoy a variety of beers. In the fridge were bottled beers, which included beers like Sierra Nevada, Ballast Point, Stone, etc. All in all, I was quite happy with their beer. Some short comings: SERVICE: One of those we are doing you a favor of serving you attitude. They did appear happy that we were there; but rather a nuisance for adding work for them. FOOD: Despite the fact that they market themselves as Meat&Beer bal, they don’t go through the trouble of preparing a correctly grilled steak. Is it too much trouble to do it right? The correct ways to grill meat is no longer a secret. Just search«how to grill meat». If you are doubting my evaluation, just go take a peak inside their kitchen. You will quickly see that no outstanding steak would result from their set up. What was ironic is that Osaka Community Manager Shuhei, Unilocal Osaka Elite Aoi U., and I went here immediately after Unilocal Osaka BBQ Party. I will guarantee you that if we could have grilled the same piece of U.S. beef on the grill we were using, the steak would have tasted 10 times better. Shuhei went through the trouble of acquiring specialty charcoal, which made the meat so tasty. I wished that people at Fujiyama had the same passion towards their meat.
