Husband and I stopped here because their cupcakes were so attractive I couldn’t resist them. We got four and they were boxed up for us including a cold pack to keep them cool on our trip back to our hotel. We ate them a day later and they were really delicious. Like many Japanese desserts, these cupcakes were very fine — finely made, artisanal quality and not overly sweet. Just sweet enough. A treat, but for my strong American sweet tooth this just resulted in me being able to eat two cupcakes plus other fine Japanese pastries all in one sitting. The cupcakes were small compared to the ones I normally get in the US, but were the perfect size for an individual sized treat guaranteed not to leave you with a bellyache or feeling heavy/full. I would highly recommend stopping at Tables and picking up a sweet delicacy. They’re beautiful enough to be a gift and tasty enough besides.

Located inside Omotesando Station, Tables sells mainly cupcakes, but does have some macarons, and a few other pastries. Their cupcakes on average are about 250 yen per piece, which is cheaper than other cupcake places in Japan, BUT their cupcakes are also smaller. I ordered a Royal Milk Tea, Red Velvet, and Tiramisu Crisp cupcake. They cupcakes were somewhat moist and it tasted good, but the cupcakes didn’t taste like the name of it. What I mean is, the Royal Milk Tea cupcake didn’t taste like Milk Tea, the Red Velvet didn’t taste like Red Velvet, and the Tiramisu Crisp didn’t taste like Tiramisu. I also ordered a Pistachio and Mango Orange macaron. It was good, but not special. At least this tasted more like it’s name. I got it for takeout and they were nice enough to ask us about how long it would take for us to go home so that they can figure out how much ice packs to put in the box. If you don’t takeout, there is seating right in front of the shop, but it’s also shared with the nearby shops.
