Utter tourist trap. ¥1000 cover charge, 15% service fee, and overpriced drinks in exchange for truly terrible service. The selection of Japanese whiskey was also very underwhelming.

This experience started out great — walking into a castle like building and going underground to a huge, impressive whisky collection, but the language barrier made it very difficult. We started with some Japanese whiskeys(Yamazaki 18, single malt Miyagikyo), but then when we asked them to help us choose, we ended up with things that were made long before I was born(for example, the 1968 Bowmore that was aged 32 years). When we asked the price, the first guy tried to tell us in English, but he left off a 0 at the end(he said«one thousand six hundred something yen» when he meant«sixteen thousand.», so something that he said was ~$ 16US was actually $ 160, which we didn’t realize until our bill for 7 drinks was about $ 500. The second person that helped us knew her English wasn’t that good, and she wrote down the prices for us to see, which was very helpful. There’s also a Y1000 cover per person and a 15% service fee. It’s great that they have such an extensive selection, but they kept pushing the really expensive stuff, and the miscommunication on price really left a bad impression

Great selection of whiskeys from all around the world. They do have a cover charge and convenience fee so it can get pricey. They don’t have a list of whiskeys, or prices on them, so be careful what you order, it could be really expensive. Other than that, they give you dried pasta to munch on! :)

I was not a fan of this bar. Although it was fairly empty when we showed up, it took the servers a while to acknowledge and seat us. My friends and I were led to a tiny room in the back corner that was just big enough for us. The atmosphere felt slightly dungeon-like. We only had 4 regular whiskey drinks, and the tab came out to over ¥11000. I have been to better whiskey bars in Tokyo.

Loves this basement whisky bar in Roppongi. Our friend is lucky enough to live just 5 minutes walk from this place, so it was one of the first places we visited while staying with him. Walking downstairs felt like we were entering a den of a family friend. It was warm, inviting, and my eyes became emoji hearts when I saw the wall of beautiful whiskies behind the bar. Our friend spoke Japanese so we didn’t try conversing with the bartender, but either way he seemed like a nice chap. They gave us these interesting snacks which looked like salted dried spaghetti. Still not sure what it was but it complemented our whiskies well. I noticed they also did whisky based cocktails and had some wines to offer, so no worries if someone in your party isn’t a fan of consuming sunshine captured in water. :) I wouldn’t say coming here is a must if you’re looking to do all things Japanese during your stay in Tokyo, but if you’re looking for some classy times, this is s great place to start!
