Located in Kyoto Station, this place offers a quick, delicious, and inexpensive meal for those who are staying nearby. The best option might be the half and half for 1000 Yen. You can choose a small, medium, or large amount of rice. I chose the small option and was very satisfied. Despite what you see in the picture when you order on the machine, you can pick any two types. Hint: to get your change back, touch the green button on the screen. We ordered, ate, and left in under 40 minutes. Very efficient.

Lean protein, rice, tea — all essential diet of Japanese. Tea broth mixed in fish and rice? Sounds like my ultimate comfort food in one bowl! My husband and I each ordered pick two. I went with the combo of seasonal special white bream and tuna sashimi. He went with salmon sashimi and spicy roe. My husband found both options to be equally enjoyable. I on the other hand preferred the white bream over my tuna sashimi. Perhaps the peanut butter sauce complimented the white bream a tad better than regular soy sauce with the raw tuna pieces — after mixing in the tea broth, the white bream Don transformed into this dreamy, creamy, buttery bowl of goodness. So good! It was the perfect amount of food after upgrading both sets to large for free. Overall — very well price, tasty choice when dining in Kyoto station!

You must get the half and half where you get the two bowls. It’s the most worth it plus you can try two different types of bowls. I loved the salmon one but frankly they’re all pretty good. They give you a rice bowl with the toppings and you pour the soup in, but you can also eat it dry and it’s still yummy!
