This is a great, repurposed train station and space below old tracks. Lovely restaurants and shops. Easy access from multiple train lines. Not on the tourist trail, which makes it even better. Go!

Gorgeous, clever renovation of beautiful space underneath train tracks along the river. Unique shops and cafes. High-quality artisan goods. Interesting architecture. Very convenient to several subway stations — so it’s easy to get to. Wish there were more spots like this!

Love this row of shops in the beautifully renovated space under the train tracks. There is a combination of locally made and imported goods, all with the common thread of great design. I especially loved the Fukumori shop at the end near the café(which i think is also called Fukumori? Confusing!) which sells locally handmade, one of a kind, yet affordable ceramics. I had to tear myself away from buying more than I had room for in my suitcase.

Pretty cool place to check out if you got time to spare and just want to slow things down a bit. It’s right next to the river and directly under a set of train tracks, yes, I said directly under. In fact, there’s even that famous café on the floor above that’s right in between two sets of tracks. So you’ll literally have a train pass by in front of you and have a train go the other direction just a few meters behind you. All that separates you is a glass window. Back to mAAch ecute, so it looks like one big warehouse made of bricks. But it’s new and really nice and has a sophisticated feel. Inside are a lot of small shops, but it’s a little different. The shops were clearly marked on a map, but in reality, it felt like it was all open and connected. There are a lot of crafts and the sort. There are some coffee shops and dessert shops as well. I also like the stairs, as weird as that sounds. It gave me a vintage New York feel for some reason, although it was raining when I went. And if you’re too lazy to take the steps, there’s also a elevator which looks super hi-tech, well at least more than your average building elevator. Definitely check this place out if you want a slower pace as to the fast Tokyo life. If you have time, be sure to grab a coffee or drink at the café upstairs, although it could take some time getting used to the constant trains passing by you.
