Coco Ichibanya has crispy(not greasy) fried cutlets/croquettes to go with spicy curry(adjustable spice level 1 – 10) with hefty serving of rice(adjustable portion). I usually order 1 or 2 which is considered mild spicyness and order the smallest portion 100 gram rice. English menus are available too. There are a sweet and salty pickled vegetable available to put on top of your curry. On every table, there are table spice/salt. A jug of water is available to refill water cups. I’m not sure if its specific to this location or only during breakfast hours, but I noticed this location had a page on the menu that offers half size curry with a drink for around $ 4. Really good deal! Tip: This location near Akihabara station is open 24 hours, good for late night or early morning meal. Click the«useful» button if you found this helpful!

My favorite meals in Tokyo were at Coco Ichibanya. You can get a soft drink and a plain curry with rice for about 300 yen. I tried a level 3 spice, and it was medium hot. I’m talking like I can handle habaneros and level 3 spice was around that. I prefer level 2 spice and that is around medium. I like the fried chicken curry the best. The curry is amazing; it’s darker than, say, S&B curry roux, and so delicious.

There are English menus available, make sure you ask! This was my first time trying Japanese curry and it was an amazing experience. The flavor was amazing and the service from the restaurant staff was great. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area and have never tried Japanese curry before. This place is a chain so I would guess that other locations will taste more of less the same. When you’re ready to order, make sure you hit the bell on the table, otherwise, you might be sitting there for a very long time. Located on the first floor and not hard to find, unlike other restaurants in Tokyo. The price range is really reasonable and they give you a large portion. In addition, make sure you have cash, since this restaurant does not accept credit. Definitely worth a try, I would come back.

Everyone told me that the curry house in Japan was way better than the one in Hawaii so i had to try it out. The curry and rice were very similar except their regular curry is spicier than ours and they have 10 different levels of spiciness. I Tried level 2 which was perfect for me, anything higher than that would start getting uncomfortable. They do have more selection of items you can get with your curry, I tried out the cheese filled hamburger which was pretty good.
