Avoid Best and Fast Change Services! These kiosks are conveniently located at Marco Polo Airport and major tourist destinations throughout Italy. The kiosks provide travelers a convenient method to receive Euros from a bank debit card. Staff at the kiosks speak excellent English, welcome tourists and promise to provide best available conversion rates. What is not disclosed (or at least understood) is an extra $ 100 transaction fee charged in addition to a standard conversion fee. As travel writer Rick Steves advises, simply use any automated bank machine to avoid being ripped off by these kiosks. When I later saw the charges on my bank statement I could only kick myself for being so unprepared. Now I travel to Europe with enough Euros to get me through the airport, to my destination, and then to an automated bank machine.
