I was there for my honeymoon. I booked through an agency after researching online for a luxury hotel for my honeymoon. We paid an expensive price for a tiny room with no bathtub, apart from the internet that was disgraceful. Staff were very friendly and the food very good, breakfast was a feast of delicious pastries. The hotel has a free shuttle service to Vietri Sul Mare, which is a small town located nearby. Everything close early, my advice is stick to Sorrento.

Stayed here for two nights. Hotel located in an impressive location on the hillside of the Amalfi right next to Vietri sul Mare which has a surprising number of ceramic shops. The hotel lists itself as a 5 star. You could argue it is now dropped to a 4 or 4.5 star in North American standards over the years. The have a full service spa with all the trimmings. We both enjoyed massages and the indoor hot pool before dinner our first night. Food, wine and service was all first rate. The room is rather small but we popped for a terrace, which is actually quite a bit larger than the room itself. The weather was not cooperative for us to fully enjoy it though. The bathroom was OK, but again too small for what we are used to. The normal single serving shampoo and soap you normally get with hotel rooms were actually close to full size bottles that we did not feel guilty about taking with us. The second night the B Team must have been working. The shower was continually oscillating from hot-cold and the staff was told, but it did not change. The toilet tended to run continually(and loudly) for most of one night, and required some measure of jiggling the button, scratching your head and standing on one food to get it to stop. Supper was a disappointment for me. The was a hair in my starter and my medium steak was late and came out rare to blue. The waiter who we thought knew a lot of English before, seemed to forget it all when I tried to explain the problem. I just wanted them to finish cooking my existing steak as it was now late and I just wanted to leave. They instead cooked a completely new one to medium-well. When the bill came, only an apology. When we checked out and I mentioned the problems with the shower that had not been fixed, the poor girl asked me if I had put the mixing valve in the middle. When I explained to her that actually makes the water colder, she got quite for a bit and handed me the invoice. This may have been just one of those nights and/or the off season staff really not motivated as we would expect for an actual 5 star. I may give them another chance in the future to impress me again as the views are amazing and they are in a good spot.
