Ooh la la. What amazing food. And such great wine. And coffee with chocolate? Who knew that existed? Now that I’ve oohed and aahed about this place, let me write a proper review. First off, finding this place is hard! It is tucked away in an alley and has a chocolate shop for the front. After wandering back and forth in front of it for a good 10 min., we realized we had to walk down an alley to find this restaurant. The entrance is a chocolate store and the restaurant is in the back. This is a very chic and upscale restaurant in Rome. It has beautiful ambience. It is open late, and actually pretty crowded. Per the reputation, Romans eat out till late in the night. Like most restaurants in Rome, English speaking personnel are few. However, they did have a server who spoke a bit of English. Between Google Translate and some traveler’s Italian, we managed to order the food. The wine, a Nebbiolo from the region was amazing. And the food was very very impressive. The appetizers was delicious. Flavors meld together beautifully. I’ve never seen chocolate ravioli before, and it was stunning. Not too sweet, and just right. And such simple, yet delicious pasta. It was like linguini(thicker though) with cheese and pepper. Brilliant. And the dessert! We saw these cups with half white and half black contents at almost every table. Assuming it is a mousse or similar dessert, we ordered it. Turns out, it is coffee, poured into a glass which is coated on the inside with melted white and dark chocolate. And it tasted fabulous. I will admit, this is the most expensive dinner we had in Rome. Compared to dinner in most restaurants, this is extravagant. If you are visiting Rome, you MUST eat here at least once :)

I found this place as I was searching for things to do in Rome. The ratings were great so we decided to check it out for drinks and dessert. We sat by the Chocolate Bar and ordered the Chocolate Fantasy… twice. We got 5 pieces from the chocolate bar for each Chocolate Fantasy. Every piece was delicately prepared and delicious. It was great to see all of the older equipment used to make the chocolate. The staff was friendly, prices were great. The shop was also open late so we could get a few treats to take home with us. This is out of the center of downtown but definitely worth the trip. We didn’t make it back for dinner but would probably return the next time we are in Rome. If you like Chocolate and sweets, this is a MUSTSEE when you are in Rome.

I didn’t have any sweets or desserts, I had a fancy dinner with my BF. The wine was fantastic. The waiter was very patient while my poor BF explained all my picky food needs, and I got an amazing veal chop and sauteed chicory. Really good. My BF had braised boar with potatoes, also delicious. Expensive and worth it.
