Moka is located inside Ciampino airport in Rome and is mainly a coffee shop, which does sell overpriced cold drinks as well, an iced tea for example cost around 3.25 euros here, meanwhile it can cost between 0.65 and 0.68 euros at various Rome supermarkets, or 2.50 euros at the vending machines, across the way at the gates, but many people would pay these prices who might not know the vending machines are there, and they wouldn’t want to risk going to the gate and it being so much more expensive, this is a flaw in the airport, as providing vending machines inside the airport, before the gates could help provide more competition and cheaper prices here. They isn’t really any seating here, as with many places in Ciampino and it is mainly a «standing bar», it does have high«tables» and a small space for a wheelchair. I started off ordering a coffee, I asked for it in a take out cup, and instead he put it in a standard, small cup. The staff here didn’t speak english, but of course they did understand«Caffe Latte» I was confused where to go for my coffee, and I had to go to the end and show someone my receipt, as it seemed they had taken my order and simply forgotten about it. My coffee was quite nice, it was far too small however, the price was reasonable but considering it was so small, it ruins it a little, and it meant having to order another. My first drink cost 1.50 euros. My coffee was a little cold, but it was just drinkable, it would of been hard to send it back due to the language barrier I then ordered a larger one for 1 euro more, making my total 4 euros, my coffee did taste nice but still it was quite cold, and it nearly was so cold to the point I couldn’t drink it, and once again due to the language barrier, it would of been impossible to send it back without a translator. Even though the coffee was good quality and the pricing was reasonable on hot drinks, I do not want to give 2 stars because: — The staff here didn’t speak english, which I feel having basic knowledge of is VITAL for an airport. — Both of my coffees were cold — They is no seating, it is really like a stand up bar — They did originally forget about my order — They did make a few minor mistakes and 1.50 for such a small drink was a little pricy, but the larger cups were good value.
