I’ve been 3 different times by myself and with guests I’ve never been to a restaurant with worse service! If the food was good it was difficult to remember because you had to get up and flag the server to get anything!

This restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of the villa that we stayed in while in Positano. We loved it! We sat outside on a gorgeous summer night. The ambiance was wonderful. The yellow stucco exterior, candles on the table, excellent service and fantastic food! All three of us ordered the Catch of the Day which was red snapper(one of two choices) grilled, deboned at the table and drizzled with a lemon herb mixture. Melt in your mouth! Also served with fresh vegetables. At the beginning there was an amuse bouche from the chef that was a small bruschetta. Delish! We also ordered, as an appetizer, the stuffed zucchini flower. Light and yummy. Would go back there again in a heart beat.

Next 2 was lovely and probably the best dinner experience we had on our trip. Our concierge recommended it, and I wasn’t disappointed. The restaurant is midway up the hill, and the walk offered very nice views. The restaurant itself doesn’t have a stellar view but is decorated nicely and comfortably. We started with cocktails that were very tasty– a version of a G&T and a sparkling limoncello. Next we ordered a bottle of rose, which was a little lighter than most roses we had in Italy. It was very refreshing. For starters, we had the caprese and the veal with tuna sauce. The caprese was perfect. We would have never ordered the veal dish, but the table next to us had it and it looked amazing… and it was. The aioli-like sauce the dish was served over was INSANE. Our entrees were a little lackluster– I actually switched dishes with my husband. He seemed to enjoy both(ravioli and stuffed shells, I believe), but I found both pastas to be mushy. For dessert, we had a cannoli-like dish. It was delish and very unique. Altogether, Next2 was a beautiful restaurant that presented Italian classics in a unique way. It was a welcome respite from the usual trattoria.

Excellent meal! Food was high quality and beautifully presented. Even the bruschetta was beautiful(and of course tasty). Zucchini flowers were to die for. Hamachi carpaccio was heavenly and perfectly balanced, flavor wise. Our main courses of conchiglioni(me) and ravioli with braised beef(hubby) were soooo yummy! Dessert was almost a fancy variation on a cannoli. Service was excellent. We sat inside because I was worried I would be cold outside, but their patio appeared to be lovely and had space heaters. Perhaps I’m jaded by what things cost in San Francisco and Oakland, but I was shocked at how reasonable the prices were at this restaurant. Overall great experience, would highly recommend this restaurant.

This restaurant was packed on a week night in shoulder season. Definitely a special occasion place for the locals. Lots of dating couples. Lovely setting and service about half way up the hill in Positano. A bit pricey but not out of line for the quality.

An incredible meal. Superb ambiance, presentation, and quality of food. Absolutely worth the few extra dollars and not at all touristy. We had the goat cheese salad, fish entrees, and mousse for dessert, and we left very satisfied. Would absolutely return if we had more time in Positano!!!

From the moment you walk in, you know you are about to have an amazing dinner. The ambience is beautiful, the staff is attentive, the food was full of wonderful flavors. We enjoyed every one of our dishes, specifically the zucchini fiore appetizers. You must have the desserts that are also amazing! The owner, Carmella, made our dinner even more enjoyable with her entertaining conversation. A must-have in Positano!

If you are looking for a trendy and different dining experience in Positano, this is a great place to try. The food was very good. My husband and I shared the tomato and mozzarella salad, which was delicious, combining sliced fresh tomatoes and little bites of sun-dried tomatoes to intensify the tomato flavor, and tasty hunks of mozzarella. We then had the stuffed zucchini blossoms and ravioli with porcini mushrooms. The zucchini blossoms were as good as any I’ve had, but the highlight was the ravioli. I would highly recommend — this is a dish I always enjoy and I have to say this is the best preparation I’ve ever had. The only hiccup of the evening was with our entrees. My husband got the grilled mixed seafood with oil and mint and I ordered the tagliatelli and truffle special. When the entrees arrived, mine was wrong. They told us they’d bring the correct entrée in five minutes, but it’s always awkward when one person is still waiting for their food while the other has to try to enjoy what they have while it’s hot. His entrée ended up being delicious, but mine took more than five minutes and he was completely finished when mine arrived. Mine was very good, pasta was cooked perfectly and truffle flavor was nice. Looking around, it seemed that others around us were having some similar issues with incorrect orders. It was very crowded and the servers looked pretty frantic which could explain why our server never came back around to apologize for the slip up. At the very least, that should have happened. All in all, the food was better than the overall experience. They probably need to staff up to make sure service is up to par with the food. I’d have given 3 stars, but couldn’t in good conscience considering the good quality and taste of the food.

Our friends recommended Next2 and we had no idea it was so close to our hotel(The Punta Regina). We went for dinner here the first night in Positano and after a disappointing meal the night before in Capri, we were IMPRESSED! The food was great, they had specialty cocktails that were incredible and the service was amazing. Plus we ate at sunset and the view was spectacular. We wished we stayed in Positano longer so we could have had another dinner here, but we hope to make it back on another trip.

Lovely ambiance — has a great view and the décor is very modern and fresh. If you enjoy seafood then this is the place to go. We got scallops to start, and the catch of the day and a mixed seafood dish as our main plates. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly.

Very trendy and elegant restaurant in Positano. We had a very nice dinner, but the food comes out quite slow. Flavored are very good. Definitely worth trying when in Positano.

5 stars! The food and service was a highlight of our 9 days on the Amalfi Coast. The decore is clean and fresh just like the food. It isn’t fussy or over done. Beautifully simple dishes using high quality ingredients make each bite heavenly! We loved it so much we went a few times and also tried their lunch restaurant which we also enjoyed very much. The service was friendly and they made us feel like guest in their home. There was complimentary appetizers and candy/cookies to end the perfect meal of fish, pasta and salad. We can’t wait to go back

We went to this restaurant based on a recommendation from another restaurant that was booked fully for the evening. It continues the trend of very pricey food in Positano and we honestly didn’t think it was a lot better. If anything, it seemed to charge you more for smaller quantity and while it has a trendier upscale feel to it, we found the food a little lacking. I specifically recall though that when we walked up they weren’t sure if they could seat us because there were reservations possibly about to show up, yet almost half the restaurant was empty. They ended up seating us but they went about it in the totally wrong way. Saw this happening to other people as they walked up. And of course, do you think the restaurant ever got close to full? No.

2 out of 3 dishes are oversalted. However one was amazing. The wait for the food was wayyy to long, for the oversalted dishes. The music was nice as well as calming

Excellent restaurant in Positano. Great, fresh food and fairly reasonable prices for the area. Service was very friendly as well. It’s located a bit higher up the hill so it’s more quiet than other restaurants in Positano. The setting is beautiful and it’s a very casual, airy vibe. The restaurant is a bit more modern looking than most in Positano and they have a great area for outdoor dining if the weather permits. It was a beautiful night when we were there and there are a few tables with a view of the water. The menu is fantastic. There are so many good things we had a difficult time narrowing it down to what we wanted to order. We started with the scallops and mussels in a spicy tomato broth. A bit different to serve mussels with mashed potatoes, but the flavors were awesome. Highly recommend both of these dishes. We then shared the bell pepper stuffed with pasta, capers, olives, and cheese. It was as good as it sounds and it was surprising light. Also something very different for a pasta dish, which was welcomed since we ate so much pasta in Italy. For entrees we ordered the chicken and the veal roll. Both were good but I loved the veal, very tender and in a great tomato sauce. We had a reasonable bottle of red wine which our server recommended and the bill was about 125 eur. We loved the bright, airy atmosphere here and the fresh food, highly recommend going to Next2.

This restaurant was one of the best that we visited in Positano. During our first meal there, I had the mozzarella, tomato, and arugula salad, the gnocchi with broad beans, peas, bacon and squid, and a peach crisp. The tomatoes were the sweetest I ate in Italy, the gnocchi the best pasta course I ate in Italy(the pea sauce was delicious), and the peach crisp was very refreshing. During our second meal, I had the deep fried pizzas(which I would skip), the spaghetti with shrimp, squid and arugula(again, the sauce was delicious), and the tiramisu(good, but not as good as the peach crisp). Like the food, the atmosphere was clean and modern.

Excellent restaurant, one of the best we have been to in Positano. The atmosphere is casual and chic. They have jazz playing for a cool romantic vibe. We had the trio appetizer which I thought was the best thing we had. Such great flavors.

I am so glad that I checked out Unilocal early on in the trip and saw the glowing reviews. Next 2 is elegant from service, to food, to décor without being overly pricy. They have a modern take on classics which is refreshing in a town so catered to tourists. I had the scallops and steak and was thrilled with both. Everyone at my table of 5 was extremely happy with what they ordered. Can’t wait to go back later in the week!

I agree with the other reviewer. This place has the best food. I highly recommend this place as well. I had the Cannelloni with Ricotta which was the best thing I had in all of Italy and their grilled eggplant are so thinly sliced which melts in your mouth. Also, if you go there late around 10pm, they will still accommodate you.
