Very good pizza. We ordered the 4 cheese and the cardinal. Big pizza. One will feed two people

Don’t even play reindeer games trying to order a slice, just order whole pizzas because believe me you’re going to tear through them. We stumbled on this place trying to get lost and what a surprise. They had a great deal with some slices + patata + beer for a few euro but after trying one slice we ordered the first of a few pizzas. We didn’t really venture outside of the plain cheese because it was simply just so good, I think by the time we left we had dominated 3 pizzas and I don’t know how many beers people watching outside leaning on the wall. It seems like it’s very popular for the university students in Naples as well, when we were leaving it got slammed with a huge crowd which made sense after trying it. Kind of a side note but all over Italy they really have embraced french fries in a very awesome but weird way. They love to put them inside Paninis /Focaccias and serve them with or on their pizza slices.

Eat. Here. Now. Seriously. Some of the most authentic and tasty(and cheap) pizza I’ve had. If you truly want a great quality pizza from its hometown, eat here. Just remember to NOT get any of their house wines. You’d be better off getting something down the street. I took one sip and the whole bottle ended up down the drain in my hotel.

This was our first meal in Naples. After seeing the crazy line at da Michele, we figured we’d check out a less high-profile place. Best decision ever! The guys at Gaetano made us feel right at home despite our clear lack of Italian skills and were genuinely interested in where we were from and what we thought of their little slice of Naples. The pizza was AMAZING. The crust is chewy and pleasantly blistered lending it a slightly charred flavor which was delicious. The sauce was extremely simple in the best way possible and the cheese added the perfect salty bite in perfect proportion. We paid 18 euro for 2 pizzas(one Margherita and one Diavola(Margherita with hot salami)) and 2 large Peroni beers. If that’s not a bargain I don’t know what is. Do yourself a favor and check it out!
