Loyal Marriott customer here and I believe maybe they were just having a bad day, but we did not have very good service here. I will keep spending my money at the other restaurants on the property as we have had excellent service everywhere else.

We really liked the food here. The calamari and fish tacos were excellent. The location being right at the beach was fantastic. Our daughter got up and went and swam in the water while we waited for our food. It was amazing. Unfortunately not so amazing on the time it took for us to get our meal. We were there for lunch and spent two hours sitting at the table. This was the first time we had long service for a meal at this hotel. Unfortunately we experienced the same long service at another restaurant and one of their bars later that evening. Is this the hotel? Island life? Twilight zone? I wish there was slightly faster service because the amount of waiting was horrible. Lastly, the cost was expensive. We ended up spending $ 114 for lunch for two adults and two kids and that was before tip.

Do not be afraid to eat at this beach bar spot. We had delicious ceviche and fish tacos our first evening on St. Thomas after our initial swim, instead of heading off to a favorite restaurant. We were not disappointed. Service was friendly and efficient. Yes, it was priced as a tourist place but we were in a resort on a beautiful beach so it isn’t fair to fault that! They are delivering the goods in the form of good drinks and excellent food so no one should complain. We were there in the early evening before dark and it was fairly quiet. You might check and see if it is more lively or even more rowdy later in the evening. Recommend: fish tacos.

We just dined at Coco Joe’s this evening for dinner. We are staying at the resort on a company incentive trip, therefore we are not paying for our food and beverages, but our company is. I will make this review short and sweet. Service: Definitely a 5! Our server Jose was amazing. We had a table of 11 and Jose was super attentive and wore a smile on his face. He was well groomed and his drink orders were accurate. He thanked us and shook all of our hands after dinner. Super sweet guy! Ambience: Another 5! Coco Joe’s is an open air restaurant; all outdoor seating. It is located right on the beach at the Morningstar Resort. You can see the ocean perfectly and can even dine on the sand if you’d like. We dined here on a Thursday night and they had a live band jamming to classics from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pink Floyd and the Grateful Dead. Food: The food was good. We had the dinner buffet which featured a mixture of salads, a raw bar, rice, macaroni and cheese, prime rib, lobster tails, a few other proteins, a pasta station and a few cakes for dessert. It was good but nothing special. It didn’t blow me away. I would give it a 3. Price: As I mentioned before, we are here on an incentive trip so our company is flipping the bill, however, we still have to sign the checks. When we got our bill I cringed. The dinner buffet was $ 65 per person!!! Insane for what it consisted of. I understand it is an island and everything for the most part is shipped in. I also understand it is a hotel and prices are higher but dang!!! Way too expensive!!! With our drinks and dinner it came to over $ 100 per person! Again, insane.

Slow, slow, slow service. We stopped here for dinner on a Saturday evening, the crowd was thin. We each had a drink and ordered food. The nachos were delicious, but the waitress visited us four times– to get our order, to deliver the drinks and appetizer, to deliver the dinner, and to collect the bill. I would have appreciated the water refill I asked for and the blue cheese dressing I asked for to dip my fries in. Customer service here is lacking. I won’t be back.

The food was good and the service could not have been friendlier. We went twice during our visit. Natakie and Rosmund were extremely friendly and we enjoyed their service very much. Would definitely recommend.

We ate here 4 times during our stay here at the Marriott. The 1st3 times the food was good and the service was good too. However, on the 4 day at coco Joes we experienced the complete opposite. We waited over an hour for lunch and when it came they forgot our kids food and messed up the salads twice. No one was around to even check on us or apologize for the chaos in the kitchen. Not even a free soda or drink. Totally horrible service.

Slow service, mediocre good at the best and way over priced. The only reason I give 2 stars is because of the beach front. Other than that save your money and go somewhere else, unless you like bland food with a high price

Expensive and bad quality food. No cooking skills and some of it is frozen food reheated. Avoid at all cost.

Good for a quick bite by the beach. As a New Yorker I’m used to fast service and this was your, typical slow, island service. However, the view is great, so have a drink and relax. Fish tacos are good as are the wraps and burger was surprisingly tasty.

DONOTEATHERE!!! If I could give zero or negative STARS I would. I’ve been staying at the Morningstar Hotel. I’ve watched countless numbers of people eat here the past week. Some in dressy clothes, some casual, some in next to nothing being a beachfront open seating eatery. I have lots of scars on my body from the nightmarish life I have been through. Being on vacation I was shirtless in a pair of shorts and sandals when I entered. I’m told by the hostess that I can sit wherever since the place was nearly empty. I did. The waitress(Martina was the name on the check) comes over asks if I have a shirt to put on. I reply, «I do not». She rolls her eyes at me and walks off. I sit without a menu or anything for 5 minutes and she returns to ask me to move. «We don’t want others thinking it is okay to be shirtless here!», so I reply with a smile on my face, «No problem! Where would you like me to move?»(The whole time I’m thinking of every other shirtless person, women in bikinis and thongs that I have seen sitting and eating for the past week) She has me move to the furthest table away from anything. I finally receive a menu after waiting another 5 minutes. I place my order, continually thanking her since I was raised to be respectful. Not once does she acknowledge my thanks, well her acknowledgement comes in the form of evil eye and dirty looks. My food finally arrives, before I can even cut into my food and take my first bite, she is back interrupting me to ask for my room number and places the check next to my still pristine plate. She goes off and chats it up with everyone else in her serving area asking how things are. Not once did she even glance back in my direction. I’ve never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant. I’ve never felt so disrespected at any restaurant. I’ve never felt so rushed. Have you ever received your check before you even took one bite? A check that stares at you the entire length of your meal. I feel sick and disgusted. I still tipped her 18% on a ridiculously over priced meal.

We had a nice experience at Coco Joe’s. They have typical beach bar food and drinks in a covered open air atmosphere. If it’s raining hard, you probably don’t want to come here. The views are nice and you can go back and forth between the beach and restaurant.

Great food and service. The calamari and fried fish was out of this world. Drinks are very expensive. $ 15 for a tequila shot and over $ 8 for a local beer. The view is just imaging.

We ate here quite a few times during our 7 day stay. I never once had my tip altered or a «zero» added as one reviewer said. Not once. Service is very slow and this seems to be a recurring theme with all of the restaurants on the Marriott property. The food is good. Very good. We ordered the coconut shrimp as an appetizer as well as the nachos, and we kept ordering them every day. I also had the tacos, they were awesome. The drinks are fun and good but not consistent in the recipe, that’s okay. It didn’t bother me. My kids loved the seafood pasta and my hubby kept ordering the soup, sandwiches weren’t bad. My least fave was the mahi… Just okay. We ate lunch(several) and dinner(1) here. It’s expensive but so is the entire island. Overall we give this four stars. Good food, some is outstanding, all is expensive, service is slow but not nasty like the hotel itself. I saw servers playing and joking with kids. They are the friendliest on the Marriot property.

My family and I loved Coco Joe’s nachos. We had them at least 3 times on our 5 day trip. The service is very friendly and the food comes out rather quickly. When we were spending the day on the beach, we came by for lunch and everyone enjoyed their food, although I’d stay away from the fish tacos, which are measly at $ 11 for two tiny tacos. Thank goodness we ordered nachos as an appetizer, otherwise I would’ve still been hungry. My aunt & uncle came by for breakfast one day and said they were very happy with it, too. I believe they ordered an omelette and eggs benedict, both were recommended. Beautiful location no matter the time of day you eat here as Coco Joe’s is right on the beach.

Hubs and I went for dinner. It sits on the beach, which was nice. Service was very slow primarily because the waiters were short-staffed. I ordered the Caribbean chicken wrap with fries and it was pretty good. The wrap also consisted of jicama(a fruit I’d never heard of, similar to an apple) and a mango sauce. Hubs ordered pork ribs with fries. He said the portion size was small and it was just okay. It is overpriced unless you’re using the hotel credit. We won’t be returning. We look forward to trying other restaurants.
