Skyride to Paradise Point

I would recommend going to the sky ride on Wednesdays, which are local nights and priced at five dollars per person versus the normal $ 20 per person. You need to go at or after 5 PM to 9 PM to get the deal. There is a restaurant at the top where you can get a drink or meal and overlook the awesome views of Charlotte Amalie. The staff that operates the ride are extremely friendly and a great first impression.

The Skyride is a nice trip if you have an hour or two to kill in St. Thomas. The price ($ 21/​adult) is pretty high for the short ride thank god the rest of my family was at the beach, but the views are pretty amazing. We went when there were three cruise ships docked with us, but the line was not very long.
Once you get to the top, there is some great photo opportunities, a gift shop, and a bar.
The bar is overpriced, but you can’t leave without having a drink its just too damn hot not to. You can also take a very overpriced photo with a parrot, but we skipped that. I did sneak a shot of one of the birds though. we made my brother buy the drinks up there lol.

Tourists plan ahead! The skyride is $ 21 or on Wednesday from 530 – 9 is locals night with $ 5 round trips.
At the top is Paradise. We went to the top for the view and has plans for dinner somewhere else, when we got to the top we were surprised at the facilities. Little shops and 2 bars and restaurant.
The food was great! All new staff and the manageress was eager to hear our experiences and opinions on her new staff.
Food prices (consider where you are and the view) were ok, $ 24 for salmon, fresh veggies and baked potato. Drinks not unreasonably priced. $ 6 for VI Summer Ale. Food was served on disposal plates and silverware.

The $ 21 a person is a horrible price for a fairly quick ride up and down the hill. The website said the fare included a Baileys Bushwacker, but when we got to the top, we were told the ‘new’ owner had discontinued that offer… but we could buy one for an extra $ 10. Umm… how long ago did the owner take over and shouldn’t the website be updated?
You get a nice view of the cruise port and Charlotte Amalie. But, there’s nothing else up there except an overpriced bar and grill and souvenir shop.

Sparse hours, can make it difficult if you’re not on a cruise ship and looking for something to do (seems like a general St Thomas Issue). The ride is quick but the views are amazing. Drinks are overpriced but overall pretty tasty.

The ride up the hill is quite exciting — the harbor unfolds more and more the higher you get, plus there are a couple of lovely homes that you pass while heading up the hill.
The view from the restaurant at the top is magnificent! They say that on a clear day you can see all the way to the east coast of Puerto Rico. The food there is ok — one might as well have lunch while admiring the view.

Worst people at the ticket counter. There was this one woman who was the rudest, ignorant person on the island. She was not professional and telling us she didn’t like tourists who stayed at the Marriott (one of the nice resort on the island) and that she didn’t like rich people (not that we are rich, but, was that necessary to tell us that?!?). She told us that where we are from (Michigan) was a hell. How rude was that?!? Instead of selling us the ticket, she was chatting up her co-​worker behind the register while ignoring us for few mins. The ticket up to the Paradise Point was also a rip off $ 21/​person for less than 5 mins ride each way. This experience only had ruined our time going up the paradise point. Worst customer service and obviously she shouldn’t work there if she doesn’t like tourists. News flash, your salary comes from tourism!

It’s a little pricey and the lineup can be bad but once you’re on the tram it’s smooth sailing. Great views, a smooth ride, and at the top the lines and crowds are all but forgotten. They do try to sell you overprice pixilated green screen pictures when you get to the front of the line to board the tram to go up, they print each one hoping that might guilt you into buying, just ignore it. Once you’re at the top you can take real pictures with amazing views easily and without additional expense. You can see the other islands and all the cruise ships docked quite nicely.

The lift is nice, dated but nice. The shops have the typical souvenir fare. Its hot as hell but there is a restaurant to get some drinks and cool off. There is a place you can take pictures with tropical birds but it’s like $ 20. Its $ 21.99 per person to ride the lift. If you book through your cruise ship its $ 19.99. Its worth checking out if you want to take some cool pictures.

We went on a Thursday for $ 5 ride $ 5 drink specials $ 5 appetizers & a priceless view! The appetizers were small-​almost tapas style– and the waitress was prompt and lovely. The view as the sun went down was breathtaking!

I was thinking this would just be a cheesy tourist trap, but it turned out to be VERY cool. I happened to go on a Thursday when the ride up was only $ 5 and $ 5 apps which I expected to be crappy bar food– not even close! They were so good, I sampled 4 different ones. I highly recommend.

I bought my tickets through the cruise line and they were slightly cheaper than buying at the site. Big bonus for us was that kids 5 and under were free.
Upon arriving we gave them our tickets and were handed wristbands and had to climb some stairs to get to the base of the skyride. We waited about 10 minutes to get on and the ride was smooth and slow which was perfect for taking in the scenery.
If you are staying in St. Thomas for a while I’d recommend buying your ticket early because as long as you have the wrist band on you can go an unlimited amount of times– so it’s perfect if you want to see the sunset, etc.
The customer service was so-​so with one guy being pretty friendly. The couple stores and bar/​restaurant on top is really handy, although a bit pricey. Bathrooms are clean.

Overall, I think the mountain top via taxi is probably a better deal and better views.

Oh boy this sure is one awesome excursion in St. Thomas.

This makes for awesome picture & videoing. It’s a very awesome ride to the top. You can even see your cruise ship in the distant. Stay as long as you want. The price is right $ 19.99 per Adult and only $ 9.99 per child. So if you have not be to St. Thomas you should go and take the Skyride to Paradise Point. It’s well worth it. I recommend this ride.

I personally thought that the 7 minute ride to the top was pretty awesome and scenic. From the Observation platform at the gift shops and restaurant there is a magnificent, spectacular and awesome view out over Charlotte Amalie, it’s medium sized harbor and the docks where the massive cruise ships hook up to when they are in port. The gift shop and ride staff are really very friendly and helpful and I would heartily recommend this safe place to any other cruiser and tourist who are looking for something cheap to see and do. It costs about $ 21.00 for an adult and it is about a 5 – 10 minute from the cruise ship docks next to the Havinsight Mall. 2 thumbs up, By The Way. :)

The food is terrible at the restaurant at the top, but the view is SPECTACULAR! We were too nervous to take the tram up so we took a cab, but after watching the sunset over the island, and having some drinks (the Monkey’s Delight was so delicious, I actually savored each sip) we got brave enough to take the tram down at night. Worth the ride! Would do again, but after having dinner elsewhere, like Greengo’s

If you happen to find yourself in St Thomas in the cruise port and are looking for a quick excursion that is at your own pace, than a ride on the Skyride to Paradise Point might be something to consider.
For $ 21 per adult or $ 10.50 per child, you will get a round trip ride. I highly suggest purchase your tickets onsite rather than with a cruise line if you happen to be on one as it is more expensive through them.
The Skyride is made up of three cars that can contain 12 people per car. The brief ride allows you to view the harbor and the surrounding hills. Once reaching the top, you can decend a set of stairs to browse a few local shops, a stand where a lady has a ton of parrots where you can pay to have your picture takes with, take in the views, and/​or grab a drink and bite to eat at restaurant.
If there happens to be a large number of people waiting to go up/​down, there are a number of chairs in the shade to while waiting for your ride.
One thing to note is that if you have trouble with stairs, it will be difficult to get to the actual tram and down/​back from the shops and restaurant at the top of the Point as there is no ramp or elevator.

As the name suggests, the views are of paradise! However, at the top of the hill its not exactly paradise yet, still some building work being done however looks like the place will be much better when its completed! Theres some little shops there too and a parrot show, a large restaurant/​bar however we did feel like the staff were being pushy to buy things.
The skyride is $ 21 which is a bit steep, however worth it for the views! Theres no other way of getting up there really too!
A must for anybody visiting St Thomas!

Amazing views from the top but still building work being done. There is going to be a water slide and better disabled access (which is none existant at the moment!)
The bar at the top will add 15% on your bill and they won’t split the bill if you have 6 or more people in your group. The free wifi is good with ok speeds. Certainly better than others I’ve used. Assistant kept coming to ask if we wanted anymore drinks, which was a little irritating
