5 stars across the board. Goat Roti far exceeded expectations. Conch was tender and flavorful. The owner is very accommodating and will go out of his way to make sure you’ll get something you like. As far as how spicy the food is, just ask for it spicy if you want it spicy. I think they may mild it down for tourists. I asked for a little spice and it had the perfect spice and flavor.

This is a solid 4.5 star experience. So the hubby’s boss found this place, and when I was told it was Indian food, thoughts of bhindi masala, palak saag, tikka masala, and tandoori chicken popped up in mind. But alas, this is West Indian food or Trinidadian cuisine, which is quite different. This is a very cute, family feel type of restaurant and service is awesome. The counter guys seem to know the entire town. «Roti» here is actually a massive 3 lb. burrito stuffed with curried meat(Chicken, beef, goat, shrimp, or conch) and veggies of your choice. One«Roti» can feed two adults and a small child, and it should because meat Roti’s range between $ 12-$ 15 each. You can also select your spice level, medium, hot or spicy. We stick with medium, and don’t want to find out of what«hot» or «spicy» is. The counter guys will warn you that medium is a good degree of spicy. If you are on a day trip from one of the cruise ships, and will only be here once, try the Goat Roti($ 15) or the Curry Goat Plate($ 16). It is absolutely mouth watering delicious! A good runner up is the boneless chicken roti($ 12) or curry chicken plate($ 15). Of course you have to wash it down with the region’s version of bud light and get a «Carib Lager». I love the Shandy Carib, which they carry, its a good but strange tasting flavor of a beer(Sorrel) that you keep on drinking, because the flavor is just so different. The bummer about this place is that they are popular, and when they are slamming busy there is no where to sit, as they only have 7 bar stools with a counter. But they do have wifi to help cut down on burning your data! Its also so blistering hot in this joint, that your metabolism will speed up to burn off those calories that you’re packing on from eating roti here. No worries friends, this is an IDEAL place to eat and not get fat. As for the parking situation, you’re going to have to put on your thinking cap. It’s slim pickings, and there really are not that many explicit parking rules in St. Thomas, those that are posted and exist, are not followed. For example on the next street over from this restaurant it says«no parking on this side of the street» however, that side of the street was so full of cars, that no spots were left! Park at your own risk and keep in mind this territory has the most cops per capita than any state in the US. Try looking at Government Hill for free parking or across the street of Veterans park(although that is an 5 minute uphill hike to the restaurant and good excuse to eat more!). If heading out to this location isn’t your thing, they deliver island wide! Woohoo, finally one restaurant on this island that does! I have yet to experience their delivery and if they are willing to make the trek up to my home that the USPS and waste management company of USVI won’t I’d think about bumping my rating up to 5. They only lost half a star because its too hot to eat spicy food in there, and there are no areas around where they are located to sit and chow down.

I love their veggie plate. I work down the street and come here for lunch all the time. It’s enough for at least 2 meals! The people are really nice too.

Got Lamb Roti — one of the most tastiest dishes on the island. Bold flavors and spicy! Loved it! Price was decent and open on weekends(Sat).

We ate here last week when visiting St. Thomas. I was lusting after another Carribean roti after eating at De Coal Pot on St. John and this place came up high on reviews. My husband and I both ordered the veggie roti, being vegetarian. While I liked the texture of the filling, the spicing was very mild and required a lot of hot sauce. Perhaps we should’ve specified more spicy. Also, the uniformity of the filling, while making it easier to eat, also made it a bit dull. However, the big drawback to this place is that it’s hardly a restaurant at all but more of a takeout setting at best with very cramped counter seating. Temperature was sooo hot and stuffy in there that if it was for anything other than a roti that I was looking for, I wouldn’t been very unhappy. If you have a large group, forget about it. In summary: food was 3 star but with caveat that we ordered veg only; service /attitude was maybe 4 star but the facilities was 1 or 2 star, and parking was 3 –star — difficult to score. We had to ask the tea shop across the street for permission to park(clearly denotes security cameras and towing). Overall, I’d still consider checking them out but would probably gets the food to go.

Great taste of the West Indies in this no frills roti shop! Very good dahl pourri. Everyone should stop in here, it will fill you up for a day of shopping.

The best conch rotis you will ever eat… The staff is friendly and the food is fresh. I’ve never had a roti that was as good as this one. The price Is great for how much food they give you.

This place was pretty hard to find, but after reading reviews, and Trip Advisor, we decided to go. We ordered 2 $ 15,00 Chicken combo plates, and ended up with all goat meat. We really like spicy food, Mexican, Thai, Indian — whatever is spicy. This was spicy, but, it was served in a 3 partition Styrofoam take out container with the largest portion 2/3rds being spicy basmsati rice with a few kidney beans mixed in, 1⁄3rd salad, 1⁄3 goat meat. They put a small piece of banana and other fruit for desert ontop of the rice too. The«restaurant» consists of a very small room with a bar around 3 walls with about 8 or 9 bar stools to sit on, then the window you place your order through.(Kitchen is totally concealed, behind small sliding doors)… Its very Small, and Hot to sit inside. Good sized portions though, we ate about ½ and took the rest home as it simply was too hot to sit there anymore. Overall, food was so-so, did not feel it was worth $ 36.00 with 2 beers. Left overs were about the same, pretty so — so, ate some, tossed the rest. Won’t be going back. Very friendly people though! Just not for us. It may be us, as we have found a lot of the island food pretty bland.

We had a 7 hour stopover with our cruise and spent the majority of the day at Magans Bay. After a full day of swimming sun and sleeping my husband and I were craving a delicious hot filling authentic roti. We had our fingers crossed that we would find just the right place. After walking around the outside of the shopping area in search we finally decided to ask some locals for roti advice. They sent us in the direction of ideal restaurant. My husband, living in Trinidad for a few years was ecstatic when we found it. It’s a small hot little restaurant, more to-go style and super busy. Food kept popping out of the service window. When we placed our order for veggie roti for my husband we found out they had sold out of the veggie sauce! He was so disappointed but they went out of their way to whip him up potato roti with their amazing hot sauce and soft fresh roti bread. I ordered the boneless chicken… YUM! I wish we had an authentic place like this in Vancouver. And the hot sauce was unbelievable. And with a cold beer… Perfect!

I’ve tried the chicken and shrimp roti. Both were delicious and filling. I was able to get two meals from the one roti. I wish they served boneless goat roti.

Some of the best places are the hole in the wall ones you get recommended. This was one of them. If you like Roti then don’t miss this place. I had the goat and my wife had the chicken. Huge portions, great people, fast service.

This is the best place for ROTI and ROTI is the best food you can get in St Thomas. This is mostly like a take out place, but you can sit there and eat if you want. Maximum of 5 people can sit and eat there. They close at 5:30.

Please get your Life here at this Roti Place. Some of the best Roti I have ever tasted. I’ve grabbed the Goat, beef and conch. all of which are made to perfection. I even grab a few to take back with me to the states. They taste even better after a few days when the spices have marinated even more. I can’t say enough good things. the service was fast and friendly. See you in Two weeks. Its hard to find parking.

Only the best roti on the island! Reminds me of «rumali roti» in Pakistan. Their roti is stuffed with an assortment of options like chicken, goat meat, potatoes/chickpeas and is spicy! Try their special habanero sauce they make in-house. I actually bought a bottle of it to take back with me($ 10). You won’t be disappointed with their food. Small, Trinidadian family-owned place, maybe 8 – 10 chairs so it isn’t a fancy shmancy restaurant. But so worth the trip to Charlotte Amalie and such a friendly family too! :)

Yes, the reviews are true! I don’t like curried chicken or curried anything really. And I’m not a fan of roti. But they served curried conch. And I LOVE conch. So I tried the curried conch platter. It was $ 18 but I got two meals out of it. There was a bed of rice and beans with the conch on top. There was also plantain and sweet potato, potato salad, and a green salad. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Sadly, the restaurant is for sale. I hope it’s still there for my next visit.

SOMEONEBUYTHISPLACE! Incredibly delicious place– all the locals come in here for lunch. It seems weird to go crazy about baked chicken, but the baked chicken was so tender and flavorful– i was in awe. i almost never order a piece of chicken when i eat out– i’m so glad i did. the owner wants to retire– he wants to work one month with new buyers to teach them all of his recipes– please someone buy it!

A local hole in the wall. It’s a wonderful Trinidadian restaurant owned by a lovely couple. The roti was nice and soft, and the chicken curry filling was to die for, as was the hot sauce! I wish they could bottle that stuff. The food is pretty reasonably price for the island as well, and it will leave you feeling stuffed to the brim!
