From the outside the restaurant looks like nothing. Even the inside looks a tad cheesy. But I was invited here by friends so I felt obligated to come to dinner. I was so pleasantly surprised by the food. It is very delicious and authentic. Served family style so you can share. Nice large portions. Staff is very friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant. Have been back several times.

Unpromising, thoroughly unpromising was my first reaction when this place opened… tis a long time ago now, some 10 years I’d guess so by dint of the fact that it is still there I must have been wrong. I avoided it for ages, turned down invites from friends and family, pretended to be ill, even broke my own legs just to get out of going. Then a really really hot girl I was chasing said she liked Indian food, I booked immediately. What was I so bothered about? True the interior continued the unpromising theme but the food… good lord, how wrong can a guy be? The food, which is really all that matters in a restaurant, was good, very very good. Lesson learned, I have been back several times since. The girl? Erm… I think she went to the bathroom and never came back… I think she might still be there… I keep an eye out whenever I return.

Megha Tandoori, the restaurant that always makes me so full. Mostly because I always eat too much when i’m there. Across from Brayd’s pub in Terenure village, the dining room would probably be considered the most formal of the Indian restaurants in the area. Its nice for a special occasion or a weekend evening meal, as its a little on the pricey side. Meghna’s food is very good and plentiful. Have had the Tandoori mixed platter before to start and there was plenty for a group of four. For mains I normally go for the chicken bhuna, its always good and makes a change from the kormas which are a bit on the creamy side. The Chicken biriany is also very good, extremely filling though. All the mains are served on a table plate heater so you can taste everything, as long as your dining companions don’t mind. Portions are pretty amble so a empty stomach before you go in is certainly needed. beers and wines are served. Watch out for the parking downstairs as well, its only free after 7.30 in the evening and they do clamp.
