Great place to stop by and get supplies before heading to the beach! Given the hot summer day, the salad bar was a popular choice for most with about 30 different choices. You can actually pack as much as you like into the various sizes and pay a fixed price — good value! The triple rice salad is outstanding as are the pesto pasta ribbons and tuna salad. Checkout was very efficient too despite the weekend throng of crowds. May the summer live long and prosper so I get a chance to swing by here again!

Ah, Superquinn. You are delicious but damn these prices! It’s nice to buy from a grocery store in which every item you buy will be great(contrast: Lidl, Aldi) and they have bigger familiar brands. This store is small as superquinns go. But that hasn’t stopped it from becoming my regular. Staying open until 10pm every night helps on that count.

I Don’t normally shop here, but a friend told me I had to try their sausages. Bought a couple of packs of sausages for the barbeque, and some steaks along with some nice fresh salad and warm bread, and some cheese too. Sausages were very yummy, as were the steaks ! There is a nice layout to the stores, very neat and tidy and cosy in comparison to alot of the big chain stores. Some items are noticeably dearer but there is also good value to be found with some good quality fresh foods. Happy with shopping experience., will shop there again

Superquinn is a little more expensive for some stuff, but on this occasion we got a great bargain and all for 5EUR: 1 Pack sausages 1 Pack rashers 1 pudding(black or white) Did I mention this was for 5EUR? But not only that, we completely miss the sign that said that it also included a brown bread loaf. But the lovely girl at the check out went and got us the loaf for us. How nice was that? A great deal and lovely staff. Good management. Carpark can be bit of a mare to get out of though.

OK I buy there. And OK I get it, Superquinn has better and fresher meat, cheese and veggies than Tesco & Co. OHAND I REALLYREALLYGETIT it’s an Irish shop for people who are«proud to buy Irish». I really get it all. And you know what? When I arrived in 2007 and had to pay a criminally high amount of rent for a crappy small 2-bedroom-«house» in Sutton, couldn’t afford a car(thank you, greedy Irish landlords) and therefore HAD to shop at Superquinn(no competitors close enough to walk…), I hated their guts. Everything was so damn expensive, and even though as I know that it makes big sense to buy local produce for ecological and simply«logical» matters,(hey we Germans INVENTED that damn thing called«green thinking», right after we invented war machinery and cars!), I always felt insulted by those little green flags shouting«Buy me, I’m Irish!» at me. I want to support local produce, but I don’t give a s**t about your nationality, Sir! As soon as my beloved recession started, meaning that I could actually influence rental prices, buy a car and feel a little bit more like living a normal live, I gave Superquinn the go and switched for LIDL, ALDI and even Tesco. In the meantime, I heard that they struggle for survival(and right so), lowered their prices… and even the green nationalistic flags have disappeared. And you know what? I have returned. What I like about Superquinn Sutton is that I can use a little card in order to scan the item’s I buy which saves me time at the checkout. Their meat is the best around, I tend to buy my basics at LIDL and Tesco, but for bits and pieces(including cheese and meat) I go to Superquinn. You have to admit that nothing beats fresh Irish meat. Recently I feel that they try to wind prices up again. I hope the Irish government listens more to people like Eddie Hobbs and not to the Irish food lobby. Because if they do, we will see a new rise in prices which would be a strong argument for me to leave the country for good. Those 3 years have been expensive enough for a lifetime…
