Its lovely to see a shop that takes its business seriously… don’t they all I hear you cry? Well, yeah, probably but maybe its just that O’Briens can afford to have a place like this — a supermarket — that just sells alcohol. My kinda shop. There are 3 wine tasting stations, each with about 12 bottles set up on it, they are all cool and futuristic looking but their purpose is simple, to let the wine lover try before you buy, to have access to such a large selection is wonderful and means you always leave happy — not because you have sampled too much but because you got something you know you are going to enjoy. O’Briens have also bought into the current price war with the supermarkets, this leads to some spectacular deals. My current fav is a bottle of black bush for 19.99, cheaper than a bottle of white bush!!!

This is the most humongous off licence i have ever seen, it has two floors! now i usually do not browse around off licences, they are usually small little shops or you get to the booze aisle in tesco, and you usually know what you want anyway so its a quick in and out job but this offl licence almostinvites you to browse around. Lots of times i have been going to a party or just around to a friends house and i have browsed around here to see if there is anything i havent drank yet so that i can bring it along with me! bit of variety and all that! as the name suggests they doo all types of drink including wines and fromtimeto time they have had stands where you can taste different winse that they have in the shop! a great idea i thought! its a pity that this off licence is out of the way in an industrial estate, a lot of my drink buying is disorganised and involves buyingon the go so i never get to this off licence unlessi plan it
