Thrifty

They provided good service and I didn’t have to wait long to pick up the car or drop it off. Also the car they gave me seemed pretty nice
However, I did feel a little ripped off for a couple reasons. 1) there is a 30 euro fee for dropping the insurance coverage. Not sure if this standard but I didn’t know about it when I booked. The agent said that they don’t know if you’re going to drop the insurance or not. True, but if you don’t you pay even more. So it sounds like thrifty knows for sure that you’re going to pay more than they quote you. 2) they seem to have put my transaction through in USD thus incurring an unfavorable exchange rate because of a 2.75% transaction fee. I realized this after leaving and I didn’t want to quibble over $ 3. But know if you book to insist on getting charged in euros.
Had I known about the $ 30 fee I may very well have still booked because of the convenient location. But I still wasn’t happy with it. Seems like a way to make their prices seem disingenuously low online. This was my first time renting in Ireland /​Europe. Maybe this is common. But I didn’t like it

Great customer service, blink and you may pass it. It is just south of the bridge on the left. We had reservations and were promptly taken care of. They were very accommodating with our schedule. Tried to get an automatic, but it was out for the day… most all of their cars are manual. Request the GPS (it doesn’t come standard in every car), which is a must and lifesaver.
