Decent place to catch a pint. We stopped in at 4pm on a Saturday, and the kitchen had closed for the night. They also don’t accept credit cards, so have your cash ready.

I like the décor in here, it’s covered in old sign-​posts and advertisements. It’s a nice, laid-​back place, always busy, attracting tourists and locals alike. The Pumphouse has a bar downstairs and one upstairs and a small (and usually packed!) beergarden upstairs too. It generally plays alternative/​rock music but hosts the odd electro gig upstairs too. Every Sunday night the house band the Barflies are a must — playing the likes of The Rolling Stones and Neil Young to a packed downstairs bar.
There’s also traditional music during the summer on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
