No Name

Normally, I love a good bargain basement clothes shop, but No Name in the St Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre is not a good bargain basement clothes shop.
The gear may be cheap, but it looks it. I suppose it might be good if you are going to a dark nightclub — the dresses are tight, bright and often sequinny and from afar may look better than they are.

Ok so if all the other skank-​wear shops got relegated to the Ilac Shopping Centre, how come No Name avoided being herded there with them? It’s just as rhinestone crusted as the rest of them, and it’s equally as cheap.
Something tells me No Name is the illigitimate daughter of some high-​falutin’ shop who bribed the city of Dublin into putting her up in the classy joints. You can take the baby out of the ghetto, but you can’t take the ghetto out of the baby if you know what I mean.
This place is pure leopard-​printed, fake leather legging-​ed, stiletto heeled, sparkled tack. The target audience is probably teenagers and club rats. The people who shop here are probably a lot older than they should be, however. Seriously though, this place always gives me a bit of a giggle, and once in a while you find a decent going out top that you will never admit to buying at No Name.
