Valentines Day is coming up, and why not try to be a little creative? The Hobby shop now offers paper in numerous colours, glitter and tiny hearts to glue on your card. I’ll promise, even though it might look like a child had made it, the thought and effort put into making your own will score you much more points than the boring cliché’s (be-​my-​Velentine-​cause-​I-​got-​you-​this-​teddy-​hug’) you’ll get in the card shop.

This shop is a dream for kids (and me who loves arty crafty colourful stuff). Yes it is small but i think its fitting for the type of shop it is, its like finding a treasure chest that is teeming with pretty paper and stickers and pencils and foamy stuff and felt and every thing you have ever used in a primary school art class and even more than that. This place is perfect when it’s halloween and you dont intend to join the droves of people wearing internet bought costumes, two years in a row now I have taken a trip to this shop to stock up on things to make my cotsume. they do the best face paint around, big tubs of the stuff and they have as much glitter as… something really glitery! I can just keep listing stuff off and bore you but really you would be better off heading down here and having a look for yourself.

Want a name plate for your bedroom door? Perhaps you would like to make your own snow globe or foil-​art tiger? If you are nodding excitedly while braiding a friendship bracelet, then this is the shop for you.
But while a lot of the products on offer are admittedly aimed at the younger generation, there are plenty of others that don’t require you to ask an adult before beginning, including ready-​stretched canvases, heaps of different paints (not just poster) and various sized brushes.

You can’t help but feel that in a shopping centre the size of India the Art and Hobby Shop got a little screwed over with this tiny hole in the wall. But they didn’t half do a great job in filling it. the only complaint you could have about this place is that you can barely walk around without knocking something over it’s so full of stuff!
Art n Hobby always have the most colourful and fun stuff in the world. A happy mix of the bizarre and the useful, if you are looking for arts and crafts ideas this is the place to go. A friend and I recently found a bag full of crazy eyes to stick to stuff… it’s that kind of shop.
As i said it’s a pity about the size considering the location but it sort of gives it a little charm!
