Town Bride

A lot of now married brides recommended a trip here to my sister as she shopped around for her wedding dress.
The shop is spacious, beautifully decked out and stocks a massive range of dresses from lots of different designers.
My sister started shopping for her dress a year before the big day, as she was so excited to try dresses on. While the shop assistant that was dealing with us directly was lovely, a superior of hers asked my sister when she was due to be married, when she replied that it was a year away, he dismissed her saying she wouldn’t be buying any of the dresses she was trying on today anyway and that she was shopping too early. His attitude tarnished our attitude towards an otherwise lovely experience.

Certainly on the better side of the bridal shops I’ve visited lately, which is apparent when you try to get a Saturday appointment with less than a month’s notice. Went there with my friend on our epic search for her wedding dress. The set up is pretty good and the setting is lovely. They have nice chairs for the viewers to sit and observe (this becomes more and more important as time goes on) as well as all the proper mirrors and standing blocks one needs to trying on enormous dresses. They also kitted my friend out in a pair of heels so she wasn’t wandering around in her socks!
One thing that stood out was the sales assistant who was the first and only person (so far) to explain that there are only 4 shapes of dresses and then helped my friend to find the one that best suited her. She explained how they can sew underwear to the dress so you don’t get any movement or need to ‘fix yourself’ throughout the day. And while she seemed a little reluctant to show us the sale items, she wasn’t pushy at all when it came to a sale and was very helpful and clear in laying down what the cost was and what discounts were available.
In terms of the dresses there was quite a large selection of styles and the prices all seemed to be between 1 and 2K, they even had some quite ‘out-​there’ dresses that would suit people who’s taste is a little different. Definitely a place to try if you can get an appointment!
