This is actually a really big bar hard to see it from the outside but hen you enter it extends back a good bit. Lets get down to the food… So We stopped in for lunch the other day. I had the Panko breaded chicken on a Waterford Blaa(posh name for a bap) with Knockanore smoked cheese, bacon jam, baby gem & tomato served with coleslaw. I added the soup of the day which was coriander and sweat potato for an extra € 2. Have to say as a lunch it was filling but only because I added the soup, the chicken«blaa» on its own would not be filling enough and a little on the light side for 9 yo yos. But together the two of them filled me up. the soup was especially good. My wife on the other hand for the Fish Butty with cod goujons shredded lettuce, pea & caper mayo on farmhouse loaf bread, this IMO does not work and was disappointing. Firstly the farmhouse bread is toasted to the point where is it just to hard to eat and the pea and caper mayo just does’t really work with he deep fried nuggets(not goujons) of cod. not great really. So highs and lows on the food front. I’d be willing to try the dinner menu.

Meh… I don’t get what this bar is, are you a young bar are you pushing for the mature drinker… Eh, I dunno!!! Staff are always prompt and friendly though this bar, I dunno… The ambiance is never that appealing to me. Living just off Baggot Street, I want to live this place cause it’s so close to where I live but I just don’t, it’s grand for 1 drink but I’d not be planning a night here. Food is ok, very average but hey at the price point it does what it says on the tin. Good value salads, sandwiches and mains though it’s just you average no frills pub grub, for me there’s so many other amazing eateries nearby this doesn’t stick out Plus, it’s good for sports, got some TVs dashed about so match days you might bag a decent spot

The Waterloo Bar hit the spot for us while we were staying in Ballsbridge — just down the street. The staff were friendly, very kid-friendly, good assortment of beer. The food hit the spot — good Irish favorites, like Irish stew; good variety of other options as well, like a spicy Asian noodle dish.

I’ve eaten at the Waterloo many times over the last month, and I haven’t been disappointed yet. For brunch, they have a wonderful Eggs Florentine, spinach and broccoli topped off with Hollandaise sauce and poached eggs. Mine were cooked perfectly. Coworkers and I have enjoyed lunch and dinner here — the fish and chips are a great sized portion, tasted pretty fresh, and the quantity was perfect. I can recommend the chicken wings, asian style — a nice spice without melting the face off. Surprising were the couscous quesadillas, which had beets, guacamole, couscous, and cheese sandwiched between the tortillas. I didn’t know what to expect, but I was completely satisfied by the first bite. Wonderful blend of flavor. _Way_less crowded than the pub two doors down, and in my humble opinion, much friendlier service. If you are looking for a nice, laid-back gastropub, give them a shot.

I wanted to like this place but it disappointed on ever level. Starting off, hostess seemed a bit less than friendly. Waitstaff was pretty poor — she seemed annoyed in general and didn’t want to be there. If food were amazing, I would give it a higher rating, but it was extremely disappointing. Green olives appetizer – I expected olives, maybe a little olive oil and spices. No – what you get is a plate of canned olives with toothpicks. Moving on, sliders were way over cooked and avocado was tasteless. Don’t go here – if you want pub food and experience, go next door to Searson’s Pub.

I like this bar in my neighborhood! Its a chilled out place for an evening drink or just hanging out with your friends. Walking through the small entrance you realize that its pretty big inside: like a long corridor with very high ceilings and an upstairs terrace as well. I like the décor, it looks very spacious and tables are well separated. I am yet to try their food but have tried their cocktail specials which were good. They keep changing the cocktails on the special offer list every few weeks. A great bar to watch the game. I wonder why it doesn’t get crowded like Searsons next door… This place is great and I will for sure be coming back soon. Especially for its 5 euro cocktail specials!

I’ve been to the Waterloo a few times now, and while I’ve never had a bad experience, I’ve never had an outstanding one either. I’ve eaten there twice, and both times the food was really good. I had the chicken wings and fries once, and the wings were spicy and the fries were actually really good. The next time I had a seared beef salad with guacamole, which was delicious. Service can be a bit hit or miss. It seems like when you want to order something no one’s around, and when you want to be left alone, servers pop up out of the woodwork. Oh well, it’s a decent place and a good location and I know I’ll be back out of convenience sooner or later.

Nice enough bar in D4. Went here with friends over the weekend to discover a rooftop terrace that no one else really knew about. The terrace was pretty small though, there were 6 of us and we were the only ones up there and it seemed to have more of a private back garden feel than a jam packed beer garden, which was great on this occasion. I got the Blue-tini cocktail which was only 7.50. I was with two fellow Unilocalers so we were very excited when we checked in to discover we got a fiver off our cocktail, but when we went to redeem it they told us that offer had expired. Word of advice to businesses: «If you are no longer offering your check in deal, make sure it’s not coming up when people check in.»

Just had the best dining experience I’ve ever had with a friend of mine. Everyone we met was amazing from our waitress who recommended these new cocktails to us that weren’t even on the menu yet, to the lady making these new delights coming over and talking to us about them to finish it off with the delightful Gabriella topping our meal off with great conversation and desserts to die for! I will certainly be coming back for more!

Pub that lacks character. staff who lack personality, although Cruella Deville comes to mind. When I arrived, I spotted a funny deal of cash back and free shots being given to lads in tracksuits. Clientele is very important to a pub, or so I thought. If you’re looking for a proper Irish bar, try next door or a few steps down the road.

Now that Searson’s opened back up a few doors down, the evening crowd here is likely to get even thinner. In fact, it was always my main complaint with this pub; how could anywhere on Baggot Street be completely empty on a Saturday night? It does seem to do better business at lunch time and early evening. Because it’s frequently a bit scant on people, the Waterloo can lack atmosphere(I might be going on the wrong days) but the flip-side of this is that it is often the perfect place for a quiet pint. My favourite table is the one in the alcove right beside the door. Even when it’s busy, this feels very removed. The bar is nicely decorated, there is plenty of space for big groups, and their French coffee is delicious. I pretty much come here for that alone.

This place was a great experience in Dublin. They have a Michelin Star Chef and a great, fresh menu. The service was also very warm. I’d highly recommend this charming establishment that’s a bit removed from the busier areas, but worth it.

We were a little unsure about this place as some of the reviews aren’t too great, but after trying all the other places around, we gave it a shot. The food was actually quite good and the waitstaff quite pleasant and friendly. It was so good we went back again our last night in Dublin.

I really like the set up of the high tables when you walk in, its a good layout for standing/sitting around and talking. The staff were very friendly, but the prices were a bit high(5 or 6 euro for a Bacardi Breezer).

I liked this place. It was near the hotel that we stayed in and saved us a bit in travel, as we needed to just walk to the place. Nicely decorated for a pub… I would consider it an upscale place with pub food. They offered a set meal from pub food menu or their upscale pub menu with comes with a pint. I choose the upscale pub food and a pint of smithwicks. After days of drinking Guinness, it was a refresher. The Ceasar salad was very tasty as well as the steak that I ordered. Much better than what I would have expected for pub food. The atmosphere during dinner was very relaxing. Come here to just relax with your mates and hang out. Enjoy the food and your pint.

I heard that the way to eat in Dublin is at the pubs. Started with a pint of Guiness and then moved on to the early bird dinner specials here. I had a Caesar salad and a rack of lamb. The Caesar salad was excellent though I was disappointed with my lamb. It was way overcooked — medium well, bordering on well done in some places. Not a way to do lamb. The service though was excellent so I can’t dock them down to 2 stars for that.

I ate here one evening a few years ago and it was pretty good. Not great but good. I was in here last Saturday though and I had a brilliant time. I had some friends visiting and we came in here for early pints as one of the guys with us wanted to watch the darts on the TV. The staff were really obliging and turned the telly down the back on for us. It felt like we had our own room! The service was bang on for the whole night. We would order another round and whoever poured the Guinness would bring them down to us. We were right near the loos as well, which were extremely clean and well kept. There’s a cool smoking area upstairs, although we couldn’t really appreciate it as it was so baltic outside! I would definitely come back here again.

The Waterloo has to have one of the most fabulous interiors of any bar in Dublin. The small granite front to the pub gives way to a soaringly tall, church or up turned arc-like, wooden ceiling. The large space created is full of light, giving the impression of freshness and space even at night. This most elegant of pubs manages to maintain an easy going atmosphere where others might fail and is a great spot for a few pints of an evening.

I eat here very so often for lunch, and like on of the other reviewers said, the food is really Irish farmer stuff — just how your mammy would make it. We’re talking meat and 2 veg, with mash, roast potatoes and all the rest. It’s things like roast turkey with stuffing and gravy and all the trimmings, or salmon en croute with a white sauce and potatoes etc. They do great big portions and it’ll set you back around € 11, which isn’t bad if it’s your main meal of the day. And going on the size of the meal, it should be your dinner… you’d be stuffed after it!

I’ve eaten here a few times, and the food is great, real Irish farmer stuff. Their Irish breakfast is huge, actually their portions in general are huge. the value you get for your cash is second to none especially in this postcode. Amazing interior, I love it on a lazy Sunday. Oh and the staff are very friendly and attentive.
