Shame on me for thinking this was a dodgy pub! There wasn’t a great choice for weekend lunch in Inchicore and we took our chances at the Black Lion and we were pleasantly surprised! The pub was massive, spanned over two storeys and had sections of food pub, sports bar and function room upstairs. Good selection of food with a tasty(and massive!) weekend roast! Seems like the locals knew it too as the place was busy for a rainy Saturday afternoon. It’ll be our new lunch pit stop after climbing in the nearby Gravity Centre in future!

This is one of my local pubs and I absolutely love it. The atmosphere in this place is great, the bar staff as well as the punters are chatty and welcoming. The service is great. This pub does my favourite carvery ever! The only complaint would be that the full potion is even too much, I always get a half portion. You wont go hungry in here that’s for sure! I’ve been her several times for occasions aswel as a casual drink with friends. There is more seating upstairs which is ideal for birthdays and christenings, communions etc. They have live music on the weekends and a bingo night during the week. I would definitely recommend this place! even if it’s just for a sandwich at lunch time… food is superb!

Poor service even though it was far from busy. Very poor pint of Guinness. Won’t be back soon.

Great place to grab a pint and a hearty meal. We went here a few times during our stay for dinner and drinks. The service is wonderful and we enjoyed watching hurling with the locals. We definitely received warm Irish hospitality here.

Carvery is lovely, staff are down to earth and a good laugh. And great value for money.

As far as pubs go, The Black Lion is ok sure. I have had a few pints there, but wouldn’t call it my local. That being said they have a carvery lunch everyday that is just brilliant. I work up the road from here and eat lunch at The Black Lion at least once a week, sometimes more. The staff is always very friendly and the food is always good. If you are looking for somewhere to have a proper pub carvery with all the trimmings — spuds, veg, roasties, and gravy — then look no further than here.

«The oldest Pub in Inchicore» People have been drinking here since 1734 when it opened as a Coachman’s Inn. This is a lovely pub for a pint or a bite to eat. It is located right in the centre of the village. There is a car park for patrons at the side of the pub(entrance off Grattan Crescent).
