I’ve been going here for well over a year and I’m so thankful and grateful to the gym for it. They are a great bunch of guys and girl, Janet, that motivate you and tailor a plan accordingly. I always thought myself fit but working alone and remotely means you can get into bad habits and I needed that extra push and to be honest the company too. I’m not going to lie when I started I questioned my sanity in continuing and my body ached in ways I did not know it could. But I stuck with it. At my last doctor check up, she remarked that I was extremely fit. I feel it too. It’s helped me with my bouldering too, I feel stronger. I’m not going to lie, when I saw the small space, I was like; «Are you for real?!» I felt like I was in a bachelors hang out zone. But it’s just highlighted that if you take your health seriously then the asethics of a space aren’t going to aid you, if you’re serious then you’ll soon learn you don’t need glossy machines etc to get fit. Cillian is my trainer and he’s terrific. Excellent nutritional advice that has challenged what my core belief about what eating healthy was before I started. He is patient, especially since I have an inability to ever remember the moves he asks me to do. There is great banter in there with all the lads, they really love what they do. They have such a mixed client list. From folks that never worked out before to boxers etc, everyone is made feel welcome and is given respect. Since I started it seems like they are getting off the chain popular — fair play. They also have another space in Glasnevin that I haven’t checked out yet but I know it’s very popular for their bootcamps. Janet also does pole-dancing classes out there, now that is a serious workout. At the risk of sounding like a piece of emotional mush, these folks have really focused my mind through challenging me physically and you know what — life is so much better when you feel like this.
