Grab a pint enjoy your company. Didn’t really have any good just had a few pints and enjoyed some. good conversation. They have a nice outside space some good music and what else can you ask for.

Slattery’s to me wins by having kept the«old» atmosphere re being rather dark with the according furniture, having lovely staff and a good mixture of beer, craft beer and everything else you might want to drink. I’m usually here with a crowd and then we’re in the back room. I think, that’s not always open, but for bigger groups it’s ideal. And of course the fact that they have a sheltered outside /smoking area is another added plus. So, I definitely am a fan.

There is something about this place that has me coming back every so often. It’s not as polished as some of the other pubs within throwing distance but for me that’s part of the attraction and charm. It’s sort of dark with loads of nooks and crannies to hang out in. The staff are really nice and the selection of drinks above average.

Pub food, but well done. Pizza and fries were very good. Salad and BLT good too. Not fast, but better than average for a pub.

My girlfriend and I stopped in for a quick pint. Good service, nice area to sit, and of course a good pint. Reasonably priced and quick service. I would recommend to anyone in that part of town.

Soooo… My husband and I stopped in on Halloween night and found the space a bit freaky. There were baby doll parts scattered throughout the pub. At first, I thought this was the normal décor but then later realized that perhaps this décor was special being that it was Halloween. Halloween or not, I didn’t like seeing doll heads scattered throughout the bar. Gross. There’s nothing special about this pub except maybe that the bathrooms are really nice, something one would not expect at a pub such as this one. We ordered wings and to our surprise, they arrived via Pizza Republic. They were OK. Not USA buffalo wings great but better than UK buffalo wings. The beer was just OK. It was cold and it fit the bill at the time but that was it. Bleh.

This is a brilliant spot to watch a match on a big screen, but it’s only worth going if you show up about 2hours prior in order to ensure you nab a seat. The place will be positively bursting at the seems come kick-off and although the atmosphere is brilliant, there’s not much point in going if you only manage a peeping-over-the-person-infront-of-you’s-shoulder spot whilst being sardined between a hoard of sweaty footie fans!.. There’s a spot out the back which is much more calm and spacious, but unfortunately it’s not a great substitute for the main outside area as it has as much ambience as a decorated morgue. Really nice staff, always a plus

Typical Irish pub. Typical service, drinks, prices, etc. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here but am perfectly happy to hang out for a pint or two.

I am torn on this review. It’s one of my favourite pubs in Dublin and the world in general. Great for rugby games. The only issue is the same complaint as many others have. Then manager here seems to have such an attitude problem. Friend lost coat last night i was there and at end of night he asked manager who pretty much laughed in his face and was not helpful at all. I know many people with issues with this guy. It’s a shame coz he runs a great spot. Angel the bar tender is great though and can remember 20 drinks orders at a time! I will always be back coz it’s great craic!

The manager robbed my friend. He was nice as pie when taking the booking then hiked up the price when it came to paying. That is pretty horrible behaviour in my opinion and I will be avoiding«Slats» at all costs. The 51 and The Bath are much better options in the area.

Hmmm. Booked for a private function. Told they don’t do food but have a deal with a nearby pizzeria & would offer pizzas at cost price. Fair enough, we thought. We’re bringing them business but decent gesture all the same to collect the food & what not. So roll forward to the night & the manager, who had offered us the deal face-to-face & told us not to worry about food, reneged on it & demanded a 45% mark up per pizza — € 16 versus € 11 per pizza. Hardly the end of the world & the overall impact was only an extra € 50 but it was underhand & his arrogance when reminded of the conversation a couple of day’s previously was pretty sickening.

This is the local bar for my Dublin Google colleagues, given it’s close proximity and quality pint of «black»(aka Guinness) that they serve. The inside is warm and cozy, with a nice fireplace and comfortable seating. The barmen are friendly enough, especially if you are in the company of regulars. They have seating outdoors year round, putting up partitions to create a reasonably well protected space during the colder months. All in all, a quality Dublin pub!

Good fun in this pub. I am usually here for the rugby, always crowded but with a good view screens and loads of seating. They recently extended the whole pub, so now you have like a good few more rooms plus the outside area. Gets even more people in =)

Fun pub to have an after work pint or two(or three or four as was the case yesterday). Nice outdoor seating area that’s perfect for groups to socialize in. We started with a group of about 6 and coworkers kept joining so we probably ended up with 15 by the end of the night. This is also where I had the pleasure of learning how the Irish pub scene works. Rounds are sacred and you must stay with your group, otherwise you make it complicated for everyone(you can see how this might be a problem after a few pints…) Anyways, Angel, our lovely waitress, was awesome about coming around often enough to get round orders and also did a good job of trying not to complicate it for us. Interestingly, the inside of the pub was dead empty while the outdoor patio was packed. I guess that’s what happens on the rare occasion you get nice weather in Dublin!

Gets the busiest on Fridays, especially when it’s nice out and you can sit on the patio in front. I prefer this place on a quieter Tuesday or Wednesday night just for a catch up with a friend after work. I did notice quite a lot of reviews about the staff — I’ve never really had an issue with them though — all the barmen have always been nice and friendly, and quick to serve a drink, even when it’s crowded!

How I feel about Slattery’s in one sentence: Why go there when I can walk about 200 metres up the road and have a nicer pint of Guinness for about 50 cent less?

What has happened to the staff that work here??? I used to love this place for after work drinks but the service is gone downhill. There is a guy in his thirty’s, dark hair with a marked lip and he is possibly one of the most obnoxious, rude, horrible bar tenders I’ve ever come across in my life. You should never have to feel obliged to be served a drink in a bar! The girl ‘Angel’ that takes drinks orders outside(as handy as the service is) is really pushy too. You literally get your drink and within one sip, she’s down your nect to order another. I along with my colleagues will be taking our custom to The Bath after the terrible service we received last week, If the manager is reading this. PLAYTHEGAME dude!

I would have always said this is a good, honest traditional sort of irish pub. it does well during rugby season and has a good reputation. However, last night 2 packets of peanuts and a pint cost me 7.40 or so — so, celtic tiger is not all that dead in Slatterys then?! no, no time for that sort of crap

Came here for the Ireland vs England 6 Nations game and, even though I could hardly see a TV, it was a lot of fun. Everyone who goes there is going to be really into the game so you know that will be a good time. We were upstairs and could hardly move, and it seemed the same downstairs and worse outside! If you want a seat you need to get there over 2 hours before the game starts! Service was somehow great even though they were slammed. My only problems were the lack of seats(there were other places seats could have been put in), lack of food(ended up leaving early because we thought they would serve, but it was too crazy with the amount of people), and not enough TVs

The waitress going around and serving drinks was Asian but with an Irish accent! Insane. Besides that curiosity, it was weird because we ordered drinks at the bar and then she said she’d bring them out to us. How nice, the 6 of us thought. Turns out she pays the bartender and brings the drinks out and then we pay her. So, I couldn’t use credit card and felt like a complete noob. Oh well — she can rest her weary legs knowing that in the future, I won’t be relying on her services for the rest of the night. In fact, I let her rest for the additional two rounds of Smithwick’s we had.
