Have been coming here for years and whilst it is technically not a ‘tapas’ restaurant purely because the portions are Irish sized, it always has a fantastic atmosphere in it and the food you do get is high quality. Staff are exceptional in here… always super accommodating and quick. Also love… love…love the bathrooms. We ordered medium paella, green beans, garlic bread, chorizo, patatas bravas and chicken wings. Probably a bit too much for two but delicious all the same

Excellent food. Great atmosphere Normally eat the food too quickly without taking photos though!

My wife and I stopped in here on a Friday evening. Despite not having a reservation, and the place being very busy, the friendly staff found us a great table, and we had a great night. Really excellent menu — everything we ordered was amazing(also really appreciated the Alhambra on tap). Really nice atmosphere, and great view of the beautiful Saint Andrews Church next door. Highly recommended.

Good atmosphere. Coming from Spain and knowing what croquetas con jamón supposed to taste like, I was disappointed. The plate with Jamon Serrano y manchego was ok.

The best tapas restaurant in Dublin. Prices are so reasonable, excellent service and the atmosphere is amazing. There’s a buzz in there that I have yet to experience in another Dublin restaurant. Get the paella, gambas pill pill any any of the small plates — they’re all delicious!

Went here on the bank holiday Monday for dinner. We were going for the early bird. We arrived at 19:30 as there is no time limit or information on the early bird menu we assumed it was an all day thing. We arrived and were seated and when we enquired about the early bird the waitress was quite rude and just said it was over at 7. When we explained there is no time restrictions on the menu she didn’t apologise just said it was over and walked away. We ordered our food. When it arrived the food was delicious, if a bit like warm. The sangria was delicious. I got the chicken with onions in a creamy sauce and potato skins which were lovely. Definitely would have preferred if they were hotter though. We also shared the potato croquetas and they are delicious. Definitely recommend getting them! We were seated at a table against the wall which was a bit dark. I was a little disappointed in this visit as I have been here before and had no problems previously.

I had wanted to go here for ages!!! It was great inside, nice atmosphere. The sides such as patatas alioli were lovely. We got paella, black pudding and scallops, chorizo in red wine. The latter was THE best one, so delicious, order two of these if you go!!! Black pudding and scallops usually go really well, these were ok but I’ve had a better one somewhere else. Seafood paella was nice. We ordered a bottle of the Mia white wine, as I had seen on the Salamanca Facebook page that this was a recent addition to their wine list. Gorgeous, so easy to drink, totally recommend it. For dessert, my friends enjoyed crepes and a crème brûlée. I ordered the torta de Santiago which is a traditional Galician almond cake. It was delicious! But I was confused as to why it is paired with a shot of super super sweet wine… this would make sense if the cake was bitter or bland, but it’s so sweet. Which makes the pairing a bad one. Couldn’t manage past one tiny sip of the shot. The service needs improvement. Although they are efficient at clearing plates, they weren’t very friendly or attentive and also we felt invisible as we left the table and the restaurant: no thank yous, goodbyes or even eye contact!!! So this is the reason my review is minus one star even though its overall amazing food.

Huge selection of Tapas and they do gorgeous sangria and cocktails, we started here at 8 and didn’t leave until about 12 as the after dinner cocktails were gorgeous! Ordered 3 tapas each and the portions were very big, we couldn’t finish it all! The paella and chicken wings were the best tapas we had and we will definitely be returning as it is so centrally located! Very handy for a date or a group of friends who enjoy sharing and good drinks!

I’d give this place 4 or 5 stars if it weren’t for the crappy service. The food(I had chicken paella and their sun dried tomato bread) was ABSOLUTELY fantastic. The bread could have used a lot less oil, but I’ll give them a pass since I love sun dried tomatoes and bread so much. The paella was delicious with tender well-seasoned chicken and perfectly cooked rice. I had the«Lights of Havana» cocktail which was superb and was enough to get me just on the right side of buzzed(doesn’t happen to me often with one drink). Only three stars because our waitress almost never checked on us, and the staff that was going around refilling everyone else’s cups with water thought we didn’t look thirsty and neglected us the whole evening. Work on your customer service please!

Right in the city centre, I expected astronomical pricing but to my surprise, they have a n early bird tapas menu that is great value(I think it was $ 16 for 3 plates). All of the food I ordered was delicious and included the black pudding, ravioli and croquettes. My dinner partner ordered the patatas bravas, meatballs and tempura vegetables. Everything was delicious and obviously cooked with some love as I didn’t get heartburn on the way home. The service was great and very welcoming. This is a solid recommendation for anyone looking for a decent meal in the city centre and not willing to fork out for over priced rubbish.

A solid 4 stars. All of the tapas we tried were excellent, and the service, while a touch slow, was friendly and warm. If you can arrive in time for the«early» special, you can enjoy a great dinner special.

I’ve been to Salamanca on a few occasions in the last ten years or so. While they were not forgettable experiences, they weren’t particularly memorable either. I’m not really sure why. But last night was memorable and also a really good experience. Here for a combined 40th birthday celebration, I think the table was set out for 24 people! Wow, tough gig for any restaurant to be honest. But the staff at Salamanca were awesome. They really played a blinder, especially the one waitress who seemed to be our main resource for the table. I didn’t get her name, but I’m sure her bosses know who she is. The food was really nice and was served way faster that I would reasonably expect of any restaurant with a table of 24. The highlights for me was the pork belly which was delicious. Also the stuffed peppers with beef chilli and sour cream. Add a side of patatas bravas to that it you’ve got one excellent combination. The wine we went for was the Pinot Grigio at the bottom of the white list and this was 26.50EUR. It was fine. I also had a Caprioska, which was good for the 7EUR price tag. I look forward to going back again and trying out Salamanca with a more intimate group.

Been 3 times here now I always enjoy it … I highly recommend the pork belly it’s stunning ! Priced well too. The last time I went was 8 of a Friday night and it was very loud and busy ! A lot off people squeezing past out table but sure what else can you expect late of a Friday in such a nice place there will always be that start of the weekend rush :)

Amazing restaurant. No matter how many times I venture into town this is the spot I always end up in! Stuffed peppers, patatas bravas and of course, some of those calamari! Absolutely fabulous place with a menu packed full of delish options. They also do a wonderful gluten free selection which goes down well with my coeliac friends. The atmosphere is lovely, with such friendly staff, and the prices are pretty reasonable too! For sure one of my fav spots in Dublin at the minute :)

My wife & I had our 1st dinner in Dublin here at the end of June. We did not realize that restaurants close much earlier than in the United States but had stopped by slightly more than 1 hr before closing. The service was friendly. We were excited to stop by for dinner as we had eaten at the Salamanca in Barcelona & had thought that they may be related — we had asked but from what we were told, it seemed like they shared the same name but the owners were not related. Regardless, the menu seemed appetizing & had alot to offer. We ordered the pulpoala parrilla which was delicious & almost as great as the one that we had in Barcelona but I wish it had much more paprika like what we had in Barcelona which would have been amazing. The patatas bravas & tapas of mushrooms were delicious. The vieras con salsa de boletus was also good but since this was our 3rd tapas dish with potatoes(we didn’t realize we ordered so much potatoes) & we were getting overwhelmed & tired of eating potatoes — the scallops were tasty. Although we didn’t try them out, there were lunch & dinner specials which seemed like good value for the price offered. I recommend trying out the place if you like tapas. The service is friendly & excellent. They light up the place with alot of candles in every fixture which gives it this nice, romantic throwback atmosphere of the olden days before electricity. As we were leaving, they were blowing out all the candles — it looked like alot of work.

New favourite place for lunch — and at ten euro for starter and main or glass of wine and main you can’t go wrong! I ordered the calamari starter — a nice sized portion, lovely aioli, and a small salad — lovely. It’s easy to ruin calamari but this was fried to perfection in a very light batter. Yum. The mains is one of the best dishes I’ve tasted in ages! I went for the vegetarian option, ravioli stuffed with gorgonzola and walnut purée served in a creamy tomato sauce topped with shaved parmesan and chopped rocket. Absolutely delicious! The portions are perfect for lunch, not too small, not too much, just right. The service is attentive and friendly but not overbearing. I left stuffed and happy. Will definitely be back!

The weekend lunches aren’t worth it. Their small portions when you expect more. Your going to leave disappointed. For € 12 there are many better places close by.

The food is ok, nothing amazing. I had calamari(well I say had it, there was like 8 tiny rings) and the chorizo burger. Firstly all their salad is tossed in sesame seed oil for some reason blah… Even the salad on my burger!!! I was tasting it for hours after! And secondly the woman running it when we were there with the missing front teeth was SO horrible to the staff, nice to customers but treated her staff like animals. She screamed at them to come get the food(it was only there for a few seconds) like they were children and when she left I heard one waitress say and I quote«she called me lazy again today.» What a horrible atmosphere to work in under such a horrible boss! I felt so sorry for our waitress, the whole staff were working there asses off and she seemed nothing but annoyed with them. For that reason I won’t go back. It’s not a pleasant atmosphere to eat in!

I had lunch at Salamanca last weekend and while it wasn’t overwhelming it was good value and not bad at all. Salamanca does a € 12 two course lunch menu which drew me in on Saturday afternoon. We got a table for two pretty quickly as it wasn’t particularly busy(it wasn’t empty either, just a nice balance). To start I had deep fried calamari with aioli, which is pretty hard to get wrong, and they didn’t. For mains I had three fried cheese salad(Brie, manchego and… I forget). The cheese was yum but the rest of the salad was a little disappointing. Limp lettuce leaves and a very overdone hard boiled egg. Still, three types of cheese, that’s a win. My BF had chicken wings, which he said were good, followed by pulled pork which I tasted and I would definitely order if I were to go again. Our lunch with one pint and a carafe of sparkling water came to just under € 30 so can’t say fairer than that.
