Great bike shop and very understanding and patient service. I was greeted by the friendly Mark who was full of knowledge about positioning and he adjusted my bike to suit my height with the particular concern of my knee problem in mind. He even put on a new chain and all for a very reasonable price. I got lots of tips on the proper way to ride my bike and he really took an interest in having it done correctly. I will recommend this shop to everyone. Their coffees are super yum.

Great tour by two friendly and informative guides. We had a 2 and a half tour that brought us to Dublin castle, the liberties, Guinness, Christchurch, north great George street, docklands, merrion square and many small stops along the way. I’ve been in Dublin a long while now and I’ve done many a tour but I went away learning many new and interesting facts. The guides kept track of everyone and the pace was leisurely and informal. Totally recommend it.

I went to one of their bike maintenance courses a few weeks ago, and I was really impressed by the instructor(I think his name was Daniel) and the hands-on nature of the course. I will be going back to do the next two levels. I haven’t used this shop for a service but will in future. I have only heard good things about them and I think the initiative is really positive.

Love this place! It’s got great coffee and cakes, but better yet you can have your bike serviced or repaired while you enjoy them! I’ve two old bikes that I alternate depending on the weather, so I often pop in for the odd puncture repair, spare part, service etc. The other day I had a rear mud guard fitted on my little hybrid. I was totally prepared to pay up to 15 euros(a reasonable price I overheard charged in another bike shop closer to home), but was blown away by the bargain I got at Rothar — fitted and all for a fiver whilst I sipped on a delicious flat white. You can’t go wrong. Also, this enterprise is more than worthy of support, they’re community based, provide training and volunteering opportunities, and they recycle all those abandoned, vandalised bikes you see strewn around the city centre. Great work!

You love coffee, cycling and cakes? Then you will just love Rothar, it’s all combined in one little shop on Fade Street. Good coffee and the lads know how to fix your puncture in no time. You can leave your bike there and they will take care of it or just sit down have a coffee and get it fixed for 12 euro! So a puncture can turn into a nice coffee break if you not rushing to get somewhere ;)
