A depressing ‘pub’ that is decorated like a chinese take away in Monaghan. Freshly painted yellow walls, gawky bright ceiling lights and cheap, tacky paintings on the wall.
The fact that there are € 3 pints doesn’t even make it worth visiting, and that’s saying a lot. (Our guinness was like slop)
It was a depressing experience. The dozen or so people, mostly middle aged bearded men, in the place were fixated with the Afternoon Show (RTE) which was being shown on a tiny black TV in the corner. Surreal.
We left quickly, not even finishing our pints.
It was well worth paying the extra € 1.50 for a decent pint, a nice atmosphere and a friendly bartender down the road in The Long Hall.
