Osteria Lucio is a really great find! Apart from the fact that I found the starters to be more than a little overpriced, this would have been a 5-star review. The food here is simply delicious — the meat and cheese platters are made with exceptional Italian cheese and salami. The bruschetta is also very good, but the portion size is a bit small. Our pizza and other main dishes were excellent — the polenta chips were some of the best I’ve had in Dublin, and the breaded pork was perfectly cooked. As if the quality of the food isn’t good enough, Osteria Lucio has good service and a very nice wine list — highly recommended!

Well, as an Italian I was positively surprised by the quality of the ingredients and by the friendly staff. I had as antipasto Arancini siciliani, filled with risotto and mozzarella. In my plate however there were only 3 of them: I would suggest anyway to increase the dish size by a little, considering the price. Then I chose pizza alla Parmigiana, that is, with aubergines, tomato sauce, Buffalo mozzarella and Parmigiano reggiano. The base was Napoletana-style, great quality overall. We then ordered a tiramisù, which was pretty good. I finally had an espresso which was by contrast pretty bad.

Really neat place! It used to be a bridge that has since been turned into a restaurant. The Apis pizza with spicy salami, chilli, honey(yes!), tomato & basil was really good. Spicy and sweet, with a fresh tomato taste. We also had the Prosciutto & Buffalo with Rocket pizza. Would rank this up there as one of the better pizzas in Dublin!

An Italian in Dublin where meticulous care has been taken into all ingredients served on the plate. Invented at a restaurant table at our one Michelin star restaurant in town, star chefs Ross Lewis(yes Chapter 1) and mr Lucio(Italian chef, Michelin star owner as well) decided to do something tasty and interesting together. Result: Osteria Lucio. Went here fro pre-theatre menu as we were going for a 7:30 ballet(Bord Gais just around the corner). Like most pre-theatre menus, this was also great value for money with 22:50 Euro per person. Our company of three all chose three different courses, starting off with meatballs(delicious), broccoli with goat cheese(presented as if we were at a Michelin restaurant), and bruschetta(large one, filling, nice mozzarella). We shared and were in good mood after starting on our red Italian bottle. For main we had chicken in creamy polenta, fresh pasta with mushroom, and pizza, respectively. Everything was fantastic and it was nice that the pasta came with a large bowl of parmesan, and for the pizza one of the waiters came out with a spicy olive oil to match the dish. For the ambience: It was perfect. Casual, good volume(not too quiet, not too noisy), comfortable lighting. Staff was friendly and laid back — I had about a million questions about the restaurant itself and the menu, and our waitress patiently answered all of them. Next time I come I will try the salmon which was highly recommended by our waitress. Looking forward to it.

The atmosphere and set up here is beautiful and intimate. The food is phenomenal! We started out with the rice balls & the roasted olives. The rice balls were delicious– I felt like I was back home in Brooklyn! The roasted olives were also very good. Something very different and the flavors were all on point. Next we shared the Pizza Alla Norma. The crust was perfection. We also shared the Wild Boar Ragu– I have not had pasta of this quality yet in Dublin. It was so good. Finally, we finished with the tiramisu. The previous reviews do not lie– out of this world. I have officially found my go to Italian restaurant in Dublin and I am very excited about it!

located under the railway bridge in Grand Canal, Osteria Lucio is almost an italian pizza place. Pizza is not bad but it’s way too expensive and me being an Italian means I don’t really think it’s worth.

I missed a generation at this place. The last time I was here it was the Bridge Bar and Grill which, alas, disappeared during the recession. Consequently, we had no idea what to expect. The décor is very different, much updated and brighter than the earlier incarnation. We arrived early for our 5.30 reservation to discover that they offer a very reasonable pre-theatre 3 course menu at € 45 for two. In fairness, the third ‘course’ was tea or coffee but, still. Also, the selection on the special menu was more than adequate with enough alternatives to satisfy us fussy folk. While waiting to order we had two Italian Margaritas which were excellent. I had a really good salami pizza and my companion opted for a vegetarian tagliatelle which she declared to be equally good. She also couldn’t resist the superb tiramisu(not included in the offer it has to be said) of which much has already been written. Suffice it to say, the plate returned to the kitchen in a pristine state, A nice bottle of Pinot Grigio was so good, we treated ourselves to a bonus glass when the bottle expired. All in all, a very good experience. We will be back.

Just wow!!! Ate here just over a year ago when the tunnel restaurant was still pizza e porchetta. Now Ross Lewis from Chapter one is here and I do believe the mark has been raised(albeit from a pretty high threshold to begin with!) The staff are still so nice and friendly. We had a lovely seat that was perfectly situated to feel the vibrations from the trains passing nearby. To the food. I ordered poached salmon for starters followed by the prosciutto and buffalo pizza which I asked to be a white pizza. They had no problem with that order. The salmon is served with romanesco, pesto, horseradish emulsion and orange. It’s served cold and all the flavours /textures really complimented each other. The pizza base was perfect. Light and crispy and the toppings were plentiful. The mozzarella was well melted, the prosciutto was delicious as was the Parmesan. The rocket was as peppery as it should be. I tried it with a bit of their chilli oil which had a serious kick. A little slice of pizza heaven!!! For dessert I had the lightest Tiramisu I have ever tried with an Americano. Delicious. Enjoyed it all immensely and will definitely be back again :)

We ate here a year ago under its former guise«pizza e porchetta». Not allot has changed the menu is similar and the décor the same. What has changed however is the service and the food which have upped their game. The food was a touch above last time. My wild boar pasta was so good and the sauce reduced to a treacle like state. My only complaint it didn’t come in a larger vessel to sate my appetite. My starter of poached egg was perfect but was second fiddle to my main. The desert of tiramisu was as light as a cloud and the coffee was excellent. On a final note the wine list is limited but their selections are well priced. Oh and service was faultless from start to finish. I will be back.

Our family of four(parents, teenager, and grandma) had dinner here last night on the recommendation of our hotel concierge. It was truly a find — a delicious meal. Cocktails are a specialty and ours were good, as was the broccolini starter. Frito misto was a bit of a let down compared to some we’ve had in Italy and the states, but the deliciously charred, thin crust pizzas were first rate. Salumi plate and pasta were also great. Our daughter had a light and airy ricotta cheesecake with rhubarb and the adults had decaf affogatos with great vanilla gelato. Service from our Canadian waitress was friendly and attentive, even in a very busy dining room with many after-work type groups.

I tried(some of!) the mackerel, pizza diavolo, lamb ragout and cod. The lamb pasta and both fish plates were really good, maybe even better than that. It’s a touch pricey. With Paulie’s just five minutes away, I’d say stroll there for your pizza; it’s cheaper and just as good. I suppose that’s a backhanded compliment to the pizzaiolo at Lucio! The service is a touch slow, yet abrupt, which I guess means they are understaffed /overworked. Confession: I’ve a soft spot for the venue, since back when the fantastic Mrs Fox used to run it as the Bridge Bar and Grill! I turned against it during the Pizze e Porchetta era. The silver-haired maitre d’ turned me away at 9.45pm one evening, as his staff had«had a busy day». I came back a week later and the short rib had been boiled to death. Thankfully, Lucio is a lot better than that. Did I mention how good the lamb ragout was? I’ll be back.

A relatively new place, I’d no sooner noticed it on Unilocal, when someone suggested Osteria Lucio for pre-theatre dinner. What a great choice it was too. Very upmarket and with impeccably turned out staff, I was immediately impressed by the place. Our waiter was particularly lovely and made my visit better, definitely. Kinda stuck for time we went straight for mains… and a bottle of wine. The wine, I cannot remember which we ordered(probably house white), was grand. My main course impressed me, green veg risotto. Lots of yummy, crunchy green veg. And perfectly cooked risotto that wasn’t too heavy. It was excellent. I definitely want to come back here for a second, more leisurely visit.

I’m not going to lie, I arrived here with high expectations– when the website reads like a who’s who of Dublin’s best restaurants it’s hard not to get a little caught up in the hype! And if a restaurant is to focus so much on the past achievements of its team it sets the bar high. I was not disappointed — food was true to the Italian basis of simple, but good. Focaccia and olives to start where so fresh and tasty. Pasta and a pizza main where simple, good quality ingredients very well executed. Dessert, a tiramisu and chocolate mousse where sublime! The staff where friendly and attentive. A few missteps corrected with speed and pace could make it perfect! Was I disappointed? Absolutely not, great value and I’d happily return!

Went here last night for a girlie chat. I arrived late and the girls had ordered. I had to go up to ask for a menu, then had to go back up to order it as they didn’t come near me. 4 people asked us how our food was. Kinda annoying after the first two but no attention to loads was kinda out of sync. Pizza was nice but at 18 quid, it was just too expensive for what it was. A glass of wine at 8 € too was pushing the bank o a Tuesday. They do a 2 course plus coffee for 2 people for 40 which is good.

In the same setting as Pizza E Porchetta, Osteria Lucio is a beautiful place. Just under the railway bridge at Grand Canal Dock, they have some seating outside, high stools at the front inside near the window, and a whole host of larger tables underneath the giant exposed brick tunnel. Lovely mood lighting, crisp white linens & sparkling delph complete the ultra-classy vibe. The menu is very similar to Pizza E Porchetta — I’m told it will change gradually — but for now they’re keeping it very similar. We had a charcuterie board to begin with and arancini balls. The charcuterie was nice though not amazing. The arancini balls were moreish and delicious. I then had the Mezzo Mezzo which they say is half calzone, half pizza. I would say it’s a calzone — there was only a tiny bit that wasn’t folded over, so it’s very doughy. I was sorry I went for it in the end as I think the thin based pizzas are so much nicer here, but it’s really down to personal preference. The star of the show, food-wise for me was the Tiramisu. It was probably the best Tiramisu I’ve ever had honestly. It was creamy, crunchy, fresh decadence, but still didn’t leave me feeling stodgy or overly full. I would eat it every day of my life if I could! My issue with the place really was the service. It was a little hit and miss. The staff weren’t overly friendly and were maybe a little too alouf for my liking. I didn’t feel the love and felt like a pest whenever I asked for anything. I like to frequent places that have an air of casual friendliness about them, or at least if they’re not that, to be absolutely on the ball and display absolutely impeccable customer service. I never felt massively welcome here and always felt like I was chasing or putting the staff out. The food was lovely though and the setting supreme. Maybe the staff were on an off-night — I will be back again to see.

Fantastico! This is the restaurant I have been looking for! Hidden under a bridge, this place serves high end Italian, that even my Italian friends were impressed with. The décor is fancy, the service was great and the food was easily 5 stars. They have a thorough cocktail menu and also offer a prix fix option that is like 8 courses. This place needs to be in more lists and deserves some real Unilocaler attention!
