I’ve recently started working nearby and I hadn’t much hope for this place when some colleagues suggested it but I’ve completely sold on it as a nice work lunch spot now. I’m heading towards the end of an excruciating back month(monthly is I’m sure the payment method of the devil himself) so I’m being a tad frugal, to say the least, and a 5 euro sandwich and coffee deal is exactly what the doctor ordered! The coffee,(latte or cappuccino, they don’t make you stick to the cheap stuff) is surprisingly nice and comes with an after sambo chocolate and the sandwich is made to order and comes with some crisps, all in all a good stomach full. I can understand why some have gone off O’Brien’s given that the salad/meat selection has gone more the direction of subway than it started out so the quality isn’t quite what it used to be but with lovely staff, quick service and a good feed for a reasonable price this is bound to make it into my weekly lunch calendar! Next time I’ll even have a go at taking a pic before I dive face first into the plate…

Have gotten my order wrong on a number of occasions, most recently substituting a thick slice of bacon for pastrami! Have gotten the wrong change half the times I’ve purchased here too. If you’re in a hurry and desperate then drop in, otherwise go around the other side of Stephen’s Green where you have more choice and better quality.
