Small and cluttered shop. Overpriced vines and beers. Some affordable deals but on the overall too limited. They have an enough selection of independent label beers but too expensive. It is not my local offy (I don’t have one) but if I lived nearby I would look elsewhere. No customer interaction, just at the till. Spent 9.99 but they charged me for 10. :-D

There’s been a real turnaround at O’Briens in the last couple of years; clearly someone’s gotten the message that not everyone is in the market for cheap reds and blousey whites for drinking out of jam jars.
Stroll into O’Briens’ Glasnevin location and find yourself in a veritable varietal library.
The shelves and floors are crammed here –with a lot of the floor space given over to artistic displays of the labels on sale. Surprisingly a door bell means that visitors will need to present themselves and be buzzed in before browsing the shop.
Stocking mainly from small wine growers from the Old and New World, O’Brien’s new approach to wine selling is closer to the winery experience, with regular tastings and a more robust catalogue to choose from. There’s always something on sale here, and if wine isn’t to your taste, this large Offie also delivers on main brand spirits and beers.
