We visited during christnmas days without a reservation. We got a table in no time and decided to go for the Christmas menu. The atmosphere was great. Long tables with families and it was noisy in a nice way. Our waiter was polite and service was fast, considering the busy night. The food was very good, but the dessert that was recommended when ordering was not available. Overall we really enjoyed it and will come back with the voucher we received at the end of the night. This way of marketing might keep me coming back time after time!

The best restaurant you fan find in the Area. Pizza are good but it sur not the italien Wayne to do it. You have choices for everyone: small portions, light pizzas, big ones Full of choices Very noisy

Just stopped by about 45 minutes before closing — a take away order which doesn’t seem that hard considering we aren’t dining in… Ordered a margarita pizza and cheesy dough balls No cheese in balls that we paid for — The pizza was clearly not margarita at all… Burnt pizza-as you can see in the photo… Hate giving 1 star but come on people… pizza is an art and giving out pizzas that look like they have been in the 10th level of hell is not cool!!! We charge on here in Dublin to find a pizza worthy of our American taste buds…

I love the pizzas in Milano– in particular the Calabrese which is so tasty! I have started training around the corner from this one at Grand Canal dock and I have eaten there twice recently. Its bright and airy in the summer and they have seats outside, which I am sure are popular when its warm and sunny. I noticed when I popped in on Monday evening last that both Herbstreet and the Coffee place beside it were closed for some reason. I thought this would Milano busy and it was. I sat at 5.00 which is early. It started filling up and by 5,45 there were 12⁄13 tables. Not so busy but for some reason, there was only one waiter, and a manager who appeared and disappeared randomly. The waiter, a Polish guy I think, was really great and did a fantastic job. However the manager could have been around more to help. He came out for 10 minutes, took a couple of orders and then was gone for a good while. The service really slowed down due to him not staying around to help. I had a glass of Gavi and my Calabrese. I enjoyed them both. My plan was to stay on for a dessert and a coffee but I skipped these as I could see that it was getting busier and I would have to wait a while. I’m a fan of thin crust pizza and I love the Milano in Dawson street. I would have to say I like this Milano too. Its better for a casual quick bite rather than an intimate dinner. The tables are laid out in rows to maximise the seating which gives the restaurant a canteen feeling.

Stopped by for dinner, was closest pizza joint in proximity to my address. Pizza was good, not the best. Dough or cooking method could use improvement, the sauce and ingredients were all fresh and overall was a tasty meal. Stay for desert they have some excellent options!

Good pizza, and good pasta. Fresh mozzarella with tomato for a starter make you happy but still hungry. Then you can ask for extra thin pizza or supper creamy pasta with chicken. 30% off voucher that they are giving for your next visit makes bill reasonable

The name and exterior suggest fancy dining, however, the inside and menu come across as gimmicky. They may need to rethink their look, especially the graphics on their menus and other papers that were on the table. The Bruschetta Originale«Milano» was not like a traditional Bruschetta, it was more dough than tomato, pesto and basil. For a pizza I got the Pollo Forza, the tomato tasted strangely acidic which threw the whole pizza off for me. Not a good Italian or pizza place. I received a 30% of coupon for my next visit(again, gimmicky) but I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

Went here for lunch, you get what you expect really quick service and food that is fine. Nothing more and nothing less, this location is the same as all other Milano’s. The service was good and food arrived quick. I would recommend for a quick bite

My friend and I went here after a performance. The staff were a pleasure to be served by. The names on the menu were very much Italian after all its an Italian chain. heheeh. I first started off with a dish with tomatoes in a circular shape with Pesto on it and a Buffalo or Bula in Italian Cheese. Oh it was heaven. Then it was time for the main course. This by far was delicious especially the Garlic Bread. I was offered this with a Al Forne. Again I can’t quite recall the names of the dishes. Then afterwards, for dessert I had a Tiramasu and a scrumtpious Super Fruit Green Tea. Awww it was heaven.

I came here with a group of friends for lunch on an early Saturday was happy to find that they had a few items other than pizza on the menu as I don’t eat cheese. My expectations in terms of authenticity are generally lower for chains but the food wasn’t bad. Three of my friends ordered pizza and garlic bread, I got the superfood salad with added salmon and my other friend got a Caesar. We are all happy with our meals in general, the portions were big, the quality was good and the service was quick. However for the added salmon, they hardly gave any at all really. The restaurant itself had a lovely bright atmosphere and because of the large glass windows, the sun shone in beautifully. The view outside was also great, and the interior was crisp and clean. The reason for me only giving it 3 stars is no. 1 the price: It’s not the cheapest but not to expensive, but as there was 7 of us, we had to pay a hefty service charge of 16 euro extra. Also, the number of cheese free dishes is very limited to just salad and some appetisers really. Overall, not bad for a chain.

It’s handy, especially if you’re looking for somewhere family-friendly and that can easily accommodate a group around this area. That being said, it can get quite noisy with kids being kids and groups being groups. The food is quite consistent and it’s nice to find some vegetarian options — I actually find the Superfood Salad ok, not the tastiest salad ever, but at least the option is there and the ingredients are good. The menus also have the calories explicitly stated for each dish, which is good if you’re feeling conscious about your visit there. If you like your pizza hot and spicy, this is one of the things they do better, so go for it. As a «last resource» place to eat it’s quite alright, and you’ll be able to have a nice meal with a glass of wine without too much hassle. It’s not super cheap, but I can’t say it feels like a rip-off either, it’s just I can think of better ways to spend money on a nicer meal and on a nicer environment. Top marks for the staff at this Milano though, they really are amicable and even funny :)

Decided on a last-minute Friday after-work whim to eat here last week. Having availed of their Early Bird and Lunch options in the past in one of their other locations and having come away well-fed and satisfied, I was surprised by the abysmal meal we had on this occasion. Arriving just after 5pm, we were surprised to learn there was no Early Bird or set menu on offer — slightly miffed, it must be said –I opted for a starter of prawns with tomato and spinach, billed as a lighter option on the menu. The dish was a dismal offering, consisting of tinned cherry tomatoes devoid of any garlic, seasoning or herbs, soggy, luke-warm tinned spinach plonked in the middle of this tomato-y puddle and four forlorn prawns floated in its depths. The blandness of the dish cannot be exaggerated, for me, Italian food is all about hard-hitting, punchy flavours, so the lack of any discernible flavour in this dish was astounding! The boyfriend opted for dough balls and they were equally unexciting, accompanied by butter that had the merest hint of garlic — a vampire most certainly wouldn’t have any problems eating here anyway! We found ourselves yearning for the dough balls of a well-known takeaway pizza chain that we had been known to partake in once or ahem, twice when under the influence of a few beverages of the alcoholic nature. Not great to be nostalgically recalling junk food eaten when inebriated/hungover when dining out in an actual restaurant, that however was how terrible our starters were! More disappointment was to follow with the mains… my visions of little crispy lardons of pancetta in my Warm Chicken and Pancetta salad were shattered when I was greeted by the thin parma-ham like strips which pass for pancetta in Milanos! The salad had no dressing(despite claims of this on the menu) and I had to drench it in vinegar and oil to make it palatable. Flavour-free food seemed to be the theme that Milano was going for that evening! The boyfriend’s risotto was received far better than my salad, he said it was nicely flavoured and had a good consistency. The star of the show were the four little breadsticks that accompanied my salad, they were light, fresh and fluffy. This led us to believe that perhaps the only thing worth having in Milano was the pizza, a shame for a restaurant that bills itself as an Italian rather than a pizzeria.

In between the delicious, traditional pub fare and liquid diet, I managed to stumble upon a not-so-secret-secret in Dublin… Milano! We must have hit it at just the right time, because shortly after we were seated there was a serious wait at the door for tables. Food was good, service was excellent and the tab, very affordable. I’d recommend the Il Padrino Romana Pizza(Chicken, roasted tomatoes, char-grilled vegetables, mozzarella with a tomato & pesto base), it was delicious, and several people at the table ordered the same.

A colleague talked me into having a pizza for lunch the other day. He had a ‘2 mains for the price of 1′ voucher. Since I was following my January diet for at least a full day, I felt that I deserved a reward so along I went. Service was quick and friendly and the place got really busy around 1pm, lunch time peak. We ordered a pizza each, he tried the Carbonara with extra chicken and I had the La Reine, both with Romana bases, the thinner and therefore slightly larger option. Both pizzas were really really nice. Like, really nice. Thin crisp crust, not shy on toppings and still hot when we got it. I take 1 star off for atmosphere which I didn’t overly like, it was too loud and too cramped as in the tables were really close together and at some point I started mixing up the story the girl at the next table told her friend with what my colleague was saying resulting in me being seriously confused about early pension options and their impact on highlights vs lowlights. Or the other way around.

I think this milanos is average at best! The standard of food is not great, I was very disappointed with my pizza, it was tasteless and the base paper thin. The service was not great either especially when it’s busy around a show. I would suggest booking another restaurant in the area before going to a show as it gets very busy around these times.

Love this place. We got the dough balls with garlic butter. Amazing! The Broccolini was just ok. Won’t get it again. The margarita pizza is basically just cheese pizza. I added carmalized onions and they are sweet and yummy. House salad was great. We also got the pizza with less calories where they cut the middle out and fill it with salad. We haven’t had anything bad from this place. It’s all great. Staff is very friendly. There is a lady that seats you with blue hair. She’s always rude but that’s the only time you have to deal with her. Food comes out in s timely manner. We’ve been here a month and have eaten here probably seven times.

Hands down best meal I had during my two week stay in Scotland and Ireland!!! We had an amazing thin crust pizza with a tiny bit of cheese, sun dried tomatoes, rocket(arugula), and drizzle of Cesar. We also shared a mouth watering calzone that had yummy cheese and salami tucked in the delicious crust! This was our last night or I would have tried to eat ever meal at this chain! Seriously, only place I went that can even compare with food in the OC… Wish there was one here :)

Yum!!! I went to a couple of Milano restaurants but that one seems different?! Things to try: Marocan Almonds — roasted almonds with sea salt to nibble before you start with the real deal! My friend had a Goat Cheese Salad, and: WOW it looked delicious, many different vegetables on it and some pizza bread on the side. The fact that there were eggplant and artichoke in it — just another level of goat cheese salad I’d say! I shared a pormodore pesto pizza — OMG that one was HUGE! Real flat, crispy, just enough cheese and beautiful cherry tomatoes on it, tons of fresh basil and yummy pesto! Couldn’t complain at all!!! Best of all of it, they gave each of us a voucher for January 2014 — basically buy any main course and get a pizza for free — next dinner is on me babe ;)

Yes it’s a chain, but the thing is, least you know what you’re getting. And to be honest, I’ve never gotten anything that was short of totally delish. I absolutely love how thin the base is on the pizza, and the quality of the ingredients put on top. I had a goats cheese and onion marmalade one the other day and it was seriously tasty. I find the staff always pleasant, fun and good humoured(love a bit of friendly banter rather than stiff or hurried service). Each time I’ve been to either the IFSC or the Grand Canal Dock Milanos, I’ve had the same positive experience with the waiters and maitre’ds. Also a note on the wine. If you ask for a large glass, it comes in a mini jug that you can pore yourself.(It did cost nearly a tenner which I realised afterwards but was kinda worth it for the fun factor!) The only things I would knock a star for is; — The price. I had a pizza and wine the other day with a friend(we each had a large glass — see above!) and a pizza each, and the total with tip came to just under 60 euro. That massively hurt my wallet, i’m not gonna lie! — The atmosphere — it is just a little bit vast, and, well, chain-like? It’s a little like sitting in a giant Italian cafeteria, although maybe that’s the look they’re after.

I’ve been here a few times when I’ve come to Ireland and over the past 5 years I’ve gone with the Diavolo Pizza. Before, it used to make me sweat. My previous trip — well, it was a huge letdown. Took me a really long time to get my order placed and when my pizza finally came, it was like eating a mild spicy pizza. So much for spice! Did they tone it down? Finally, when it was time to pay I had to wait over 15 minutes for someone to notice me and bring the check. Pretty disappointed overall — I would have expected better.
