Wow, the ladies in the fabric department know their stuff! I came here to buy some fabric and sewing bits and bobs, and I was so impressed by how competent the staff are. They were asking questions about what I was making, and not only were they genuinely interested, they made suggestions of what I could do as well. I’ve been up there a couple times, and they show the same courtesy to everybody. Bravo to Ms. Vivienne and the staff!

You don’t come to Michael Guineys to buy beautiful home supplies that will wow your friends and family. No. People who shop at Guineys are looking for basic stuff for a good price. I recommend this particular Guineys if you want to outfit your bedroom and bathroom or if you need cleaning supplies. It always has great prices and everything is much cheaper than at Dunnes Stores or Tescos. The quality is just as good too. Large bathroom towels in neutral colours are 3 for a tenner. Egyptian cotton sheets sell for 20. There are duvet cover sets, pillows, cleaning products, sponges and cloths for next to nothing.

So dissapointed in how I was treated by a member of staff there on Monday, while exchanging a uniform from one size to another. This shop is almost a landmark in Dublin city and saddened me to be treated almost like a burden, the young man working in customer service slammed my bag back In my face claiming I should have returned the item sooner even though it was their mistake in the first place for packaging the wrong size into the bag, and completely different uniform too, when I asked if there was a price difference he replied«I’m not Einstein, I can’t remember everything» and he walked off in a huff. I took my uniform and left, one member of staff did approach me and gave me his name and apologized for his behaviour, i will never return again.
