I’m a big fan. Large portions, so be hungry, or else share with your companions. The spicy salty beef starter I could eat several as a main course. Highly recommended.

Love Kinara, excellent service and delicious Indian food on the seafront in Clontarf. The staff are brilliant and the portions sizes are good. I had the crab claws to start, prawn jalfrezi and a chocolate fondant dessert. Every course was delicious and it was a great place for an occasion. The waiters really give superb service, the food is gorgeous and it’s the best Indian I’ve ever been to!

My favourite restaurant in the entire world ever since I was a child. After your first or second time of going to Kinara, the staff get to know you and your orders– which is so nice. I ALWAYS begin with behari kebab which is served with a yoghurt as it is quite spicey. with a side of freshly prepared cucumbers and side salad. This is simply delicious, if you aren’t into spicey food there is other options too so don’t worry too much! For a main course, I usually opt for chicken tikka masala as it is a classic and it is simply DELICIOUS! The dishes are served in beautiful red pots with lids, so there is no rush or worry on your food going cold as the pots prevent it from doing so! If you are booking, I do reccomend you to ask for a window seat as it is the most beautiful view ever– Clontarf and if you’re really lucky you could be watching the local boats of Clontarf Yacht and Boat Club out sailing in their dinghies or cruisers. So, if you’re coming from town you can hop on the 130 from Lower Abbey Street and it will stop right outisde Kinara Restaurant. I guarantee, once you dine here you will want to go back straight away as the food is AH-MAY-ZING! The staff are so friendly and polite and are there if you need advice on the menu. To finish– if you are there for dinner, they do really goood desert cocktails(i’ve never tasted them so relying on my sisters experience), if you’re not into an alcoholic desert they do these amazing traditional Indian drinks called Mango Lassi’s! Hope this is helpful, and definitely the best Indian Restaurant in Ireland. Plus they’ve two other restaurants– one in Ranelagh and one in Malahide.

Came here a while back for dinner. Was a fab evening to walk along the Clontarf Road to find the place. I believe you can get tables with a view over the bay but we were sat in a corner towards the back. I had scallops to start which were well cooked and presented. The murgh tikka masala was good. I had a cheesecake cocktail for dessert which was(unfortunately) probably the best bit It is a little pricey. Also it’s not in the city centre but easy to get to. There are plenty of other places in town I’d prefer to visit did this type of food. Quite a nice restaurant with decent service.

Best Indian/Pakistani restaurant in Dublin(my opinion). It was my second time in this place, hands down to their squid rings(TALIWALIMACHALI) and any query that you pick is so tasteful. The menu offers a great variety of Pakistani dishes, and you will have different types of meat to choose. Expect to spend a considerable amount for a meal for two.

Eaten here a few times for both lunch & dinner. Wouldn’t be too familiar with Pakistani cuisine but the food is amazing. Lovely comfortable room & staff are very attentive, polite & friendly. The early bird is good value too.

«High hopes. Did not deliver» It was a trek for us to get here so we were looking forward to it I have been to India many times so had hoped for some authentic dishes with a twist. Both starters were excellent(scallops and monkfish). Well spiced and lots of fkavour the main courses were both dry(chicken and beef). The beef was not tender and was more like stewing beef. The sauce for the nehari gosht was not spicey and lacked the complex flavours I would have exoected. Desert was very good as was the cheesecake cocktail. Wine selection ok. WATERWASSCARCE just keave the jug on the table if you cannot keep them topped up. Overall average. Perhaps I had it built up too much based on the reviews

went here for the first time in years with my cousin last week, decided to go as I remembered years ago it was gorgeous and the online menu & pics looked yummy. unfortunately We were both totally unimpressed. I ordered the«jumbo» prawn starter that I had decided I wanted after seeing it on the website,(it looked amazing) when it came out it looked far less tasty the prawns were half the size as the pic online, they were over cooked, chewy and had a burnt taste off them my cousin didn’t have a starter as she doesn’t eat fish or shellfish and didn’t want potato cakes we both went for the safe option of chicken tikka masala we shared 1 pilau rice and 1 garlic naan bread the main was worse then the starter the chicken was unbelievably dry(confusing as it came out swimming in sauce) and also there were a lot of black and stringy bits in the chicken also. We left half of each of our mains, the staff said nothing so we paid our € 65+ bill and decided to mark it off the list of restaurants to go to in the future. totally surprised to see all the positive reviews for kinara, we must have just gone on an off day?

Had the early bird here yesterday with wife and two friends. I thought the dishes looked a bit on the small side when they came out, but we all know that looks can be deceiving. I had the curried lamb balls for main and was a bit dissapointed there was only four. And yet, I only just about managed to finish them. They seem to have got the balance of portion size just right; not too much or little. the food was very good but the service was excellent; not overbearling or neglectful. It was like baby bear’s porridge, chair and bed; just right. There is a decent selection of gluten free dishes too. As I was driving I was on the alcohol free beer. They stock Cobra free, probably one of the better alcohol free beers I’ve had, which was a nice surprise. A good 3 stars; not raving about it, but it was well worth the money and visit and I’d happily go back.

So it’s a Sunday evening, you’re still slightly hungover and also a little disappointed from the poor meal the night before. What better way to end the weekend than dinner in Kinara. We’ve been here several times, but this visit has to be the best by far. The restaurant wasn’t too busy and we opted to take a table upstairs. Unfortunately all the window seats were taken but we still got a table close enough to be able to look out over the bay at the full moon. Planning to only have a couple of glasses of wine, I chose the wine of the month a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. It was just perfect. My date for the evening went with a Tiger beer. To start we decided to share a main on suggestion from our fantastic waiter. We had the Tandoori Khas which was a selection of meat and veg cooked in a clay oven. It was sublime. The lamb was just amazing. We are both trying to be healthy at the moment and keeping off the carbs so for main both of us chose the Tandoori Monk fish. I’ve had the starter monk fish before which is always delicious and I was worried this wouldn’t be as good. It didn’t disappoint and would be reason enough to return. Monk fish can often be tough, but this was so tender and delicious. We fell off the wagon slightly, ordering some Garlic Naan with some Tikka Masala sauce for dipping, but it was worth it. To finish a simple scoop of chocolate ice cream. My folks always say they don’t like Indian or Pakistani cuisine, but I will definitely be bringing them here. Definitely worth a try, can be a little pricey but they also do a great Early Bird.

Really nice restaurant with really good food. Suburb location overlooking bull island. Service is very good too which is usually the norm for pakistani/indian restaurants. Good early bird on during selected days also.

Food is wonderful but for a lunch it is too slow particularly when you’re on a deadline! However, if you are lucky enough to be able to while away an afternoon then you could do it in style here. The dishes are wonderful, I had lamb cutlets as a starter with a prawn curry for mains. Very filling and just right on portion sizes. I will be back when not in a hurry to fully experience the joys of this restaurant.

This has to be one of my favourite restaurants in Dublin. I’ve been going for years and have never been disappointed. Their Pakistani food is authentic and tasty. I’d love to recommend some dishes but I can never remember the names! Their a la carte menu is quite expensive so I always go for the early bird, which is perfectly finished off by a bowl of kulfi, the best way to cool down after a curry. Kinara is in kind of a random location and sometimes parking can be a bit of a pain, but it has lovely views across Dublin Bay and at night time it’s quite romantic.

It’s funny that as specific a type of a restaurant as Pakistani decided to open in the suburbs of Clontarf, but there you go, I suppose. The food in Kinara is very good: if you like Indian food, but the person you are eating out with can’t handle spicy, Pakistani cuisine is the way to go. Whenever I get Indian, I usually get lamb, and Kinara do a lovely dish called Palak Gosht: lamb, spinach and coriander. If you enjoy your Lamb Saag, this is the man for you. Kinara isn’t terribly cheap: the food is nice, but you’ll pay for it. And one other thing: Kinara is handy enough to get to from town(just hop on a 130 on Abbey St), but I live less than two miles from the place and it is maddeningly awkward to get there from where I am. I know that this is Dublin Bus’ fault rather than Kinara’s, but they could have avoided all of this had they have been considerate enough to open in Raheny instead.

Each dish can feed more than two despite being served in individual pots, but my friends and I couldn’t agree on entrees. I drank a mango lassi. I recommend the mughul khopra [chunky chicken curry with creamed coconut] which was better than the version I had in London. My friend had loki mushroom because she’s a vegetarian. I shared Anna’s mughlai murghi(chicken breast pieces with eggplant and shredded coconut). Its worth a visit even though its in the suburbs. Murgh tikka masala, naan, and pilau rice are my comfort foods ever since that meal. My hotel called in our reservation and recommended the lobster tails. This was the best Northern Indian or Pakistani food I have ever eaten. We couldn’t finish the meal but the restaurant doesn’t offer takeaway containers.

This is by far one of the nicest restaurants I have ever been to. Set on the Clontarf sea front the views from outside the restaurant are so stunning that I got distracted from going into the restaurant before I realised how hungry I was, and I’m so glad that I made it inside because this is a meal not to be missed. Far from being your typical Indian restaurant, this place also serves Pakistani dishes which gives you a much wider range to chose from and are equally delicious. The house red wine was so good that we ended up purchasing and additional bottle to take home with us. After our three course meal was finished, they were getting very busy and so had to ask us to leave, but were happy for us to move to the bar upstairs and continued to serve us cocktails up there. All in all I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, it is very popular amongst Clontarf residents and for very good reason!
