This is by far the best Indian food on the planet. I have travelled the globe and I can honestly say each dish is something I dream about where ever I am in the world. Nice people from India in front of house and in the kitchen. Very nice people. Ranbir is front of house and runs it — he is the main man in Rathfarnham. He knows everyone and provides the best service. Restaurant is a gorgeous welcoming atmosphere. Very nice and good energy. Take away is luscious. Chicken Makhani and Onion Bahji’s are insane. Set dinner B is fantastic for take away. Prawn & mushroom korma is devine. Thier biryanis are amazing.

I have been eating Indian food for the past thirty years or so and absolutely love it. I feel some reviewers on Unilocal get a little carried away sometimes when it comes to critiquing Indian food. I have eaten a few meals from this restaurant and where by the food was nice and well presented, I certainly wouldn’t be so generous as to refer to it as a hidden gem. Anyone who is passionate about Indian food wouldn’t get so carried away as some reviewers do when it comes to Indian food. In my opinion It is just ok, some of the more popular dishes can have a sharp taste. It’s ok, but not great. It just happens to be handy for me when I don’t want to travel.

This is a really good neighbourhood Indian restaurant/takeaway. I visit mostly for takeaway or opt for home delivery. The Chicken Kadhai is one of my favourites from this place but pretty much everything is spot on. Try the Lamb Dopiaza and the Salmon Tikka! Staff are friendly, prices are good and the bag of free poppadoms included in every take away order is very generous. Any time I have been in the restaurant to collect food the phones are hopping with people placing orders. Delivery can take up to 50 mins on average but they’ll let you know and it’s worth the wait.

I’ve only ever ordered from the take away menu and I have to say its fab! I’ve gotten the chicken tikka masala and the chicken jalfrezi and both are delicious. The meat is always tender and tasty and the food is a lot fresher than a Chinese take away! I normally get a rice and plain nan bread too. Some Indian take aways can be quite pricey but this is good enough value and I know they have some sort of early bird during the week and i think on Sundays. As far as I know it’s a 2 course meal for approx € 15. I saw the restaurant before and it’s small but pleasant and modern looking :-)

Some Sundays you just don’t want to go through the hassle of making Sunday lunch and last Sunday was one of those days. We are lucky to have a good selection of great Indian restaurants/takeaways around the Rathfarnham area but I think this is the only one which opens for lunch on a Sunday. We went for the takeaway option of the combination starter for 2(veg and non-veg) and the chicken tikka masala and lamb balti for the mains with pilau rice and some nan bread. This amount is perfect for 3 adults as the portions are very generous. The kids haven’t grown their Indian taste buds yet so unfortunately some cooking had to be done to keep them fed but it was worth it. The quality of the food was good with a favourite of mine being the lamb balti which was nicely spiced. My wife loved the starters and they came with lovely mint and fruit chutney dips and complimentary pappadums. All in all the proof was shown by the 3 clean plates at the end of the meal that we all enjoyed it. It came to around € 28 in total and only afterwards I noticed they have a set menu option for the same price where you could get an additional veg side dish so we will go for that next time a lazy Sunday is on the cards but it would have been nice if that had been mentioned at the time of ordering.
