Hilarious. Musical comedy at it’s best. Try the Beach Boys-inspired track reminiscing about the summer they killed that guy, clap along to the overly worried about contraception girl, or literally(in my case) fall off the chair laughing at the midget song. It doesn’t help that I’m no giant myself, the added bonus of which was not lost on my ever so lovely friends. Genuinely talented musicians, with a great ear for music, these dudes will have you in stitches from beginning to end. No question.

Do you feel your life lacks a certain something? Are you depressed, disillusioned or generally world-weary? Could you do with a little laughter, a little silliness and a little pizazz in your life? If you have answered yes to any of the above then get yourself along to a Dead Cat Bounce gig. These geniuses of comedic musical rock are bound to have the cure for whatever it is that ails you. If laughter is the cure, that is(and when is it not, really?!?) I caught these guys earlier this week at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and dosed up on enough belly laughs to get me through three more recessions, or at least until Christmas. Dead Cat Bounce’s latest show ‘Wired’ is a rock band and a comedy night rolled into one fast-paced, hard-hitting hour of fantastical lyrics, hilariously improbable stories and off-the-wall comedy sketches all thrown together in a deliberately tryhardy rock concert-style performance. We love these four Dubs who are making a name for themselves in comedy circles all over the world. Book a ticket now and marvel at their take on Chlamydia, cringe at their midget jokes and laugh your ass off at their ‘mummy and daddy are getting divorced’ ditties. Their performance is not only funny but also incredibly witty, well-timed and seamlessly assembled. These boys can sing and play their instruments faultlessly and they have excellent physicality and comedic timing. Dead Cat Bounce WILL be famous, so look up their website, become a fan, get to see them soon so you can say you knew them back in the day, before they were international superstars and Dublin’s biggest export since U2. When they return from the Fringe they’re performing September 5 and 6 at Electric Picnic, and then at the Bulmers International Comedy Festival.
