I’ve eaten at the cottage café many times because it’s close to my office. The soups are always fresh and nice, and the sandwiches better than most. For a soup/sandwich combo, probably one of the best places in Dun Laoghaire.

I stumbled upon the Cottage Café after an aimless wander up Patrick Street in my quest to explore Dun Laoghaire. A quaint little café, simply decorated with nice ambient music on the background. The café itself is quite bright due to the large window at the front. A bookshelf with a sizeable collection of books and today’s papers sits in the corner. They do breakfasts in the morning and for lunch they do BLTs, paninis, sandwiches, wraps etc. All the auld reliables. They do a soup and sandwich special for € 6 which is pretty good. I got the chicken tikka wrap and a coffee. Very tasty. I’m rather partial to a chicken tikka wrap. I enjoy the mess. The place seems popular for tea/coffee with a slice of cake of which there is quite a large selection! The Cottage Café was a pleasant surprise. I almost don’t want to write a review for the place so I can keep the place to myself ! :D
